19.5% of America is on Welfare?

A socialist would advocate for low wages for all. I'm the opposite. I like seeing workers get ahead. Low wages do nobody a dang bit of good.
And the money will fall off the money tree?

And how will people pay for the inflated goods?

A higher wages means more money to invest for retirement. Also more $$ into social security. That pesky SS, the program some call a ponzi scheme , etc.

A higher wage for low-skilled jobs means businesses will just raise prices on consumers, creating a vicious cycle.

To a small degree yes. Perhaps we don't need people doing those jobs. Leave them unfilled or better yet simply don't hire those jobs out.

No, then those people would just go on welfare. It’s better if they work.

I can agree as long as they get some assistance if below 40 grand
What about retirees with an average income of $24,000? The $40k worker can better his earnings potential through career or job training, but retirees cannot.

We should not be giving assistance to $40k workers and shrug at elderly with half that income.

Why would you assume that? We're for capitalist employers (i.e. exploiters) paying higher wages. In the long-run higher wages benefit everyone, including employers. Who walks into their stores and purchases their products? Aliens from outer space? It's the working class. The more workers earn, the more they spend on the goods and services the capitalists are selling. Again, in the long run, paying workers well grows one's business. It stimulates the economy.

But does nothing to benefit the bottom line. Businesses exist for one purpose only. Profit! Nothing more, nothing less.

In the long run, as I already said, it increases profits by stimulating the economy. However, businesses under our current form of neoliberal capitalism, need to readjust their priorities or "bottom line" to include providing jobs to the community that pay a living wage. There's no business or market if the working class is destitute. The working class is the market.

These figures will get much worse in the near future, as advanced automation and AGI replace human labor. Our transition from capitalism to techno-feudalism under the heel of billionaires like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, is going to create even more welfare recipients, living in poverty (scarcity).
Yup. And they'll blame it on liberals. And dumb ass American voters will vote for them. So fuck it.

I thank god my family is rich. And I don't have any kids. We will be fine. But I can't help but feel like this about Trump taking over next week

Businesses should pay their own employees more so that their own employees buy
more of what they produce?

Socialists see employees as slaves, and they want to make the owners take good care of their slaves.

Most businesses do not see their most productive employees as valuable but view them as subhuman.

I suppose you think the billionaires are paid according to their contributions.
You do realize that is exactly the opposite of what that means. They do not contribute and do not get extra benefits for no contributions. These people are not getting paid for the contributions they made. The penalty was applied to what they would have been paid.

You are so mentally inept to bot be able to figure that out for yourself?

All of that will be offset by companies increasing prices to pay for the increased labor cost. Seen the prices at McDonald's or any other fast-food restaurant lately?

It’s a meeting open to the public. Why do you oppose freedom of speech? Are you a Fascist?
