The trucks themselves on the other hand, do need to be properly serviced oil, brakes, tires, shocks, wheel bearings, wash-and-wax once in a while that kind of thing if you aren't a full blown diesel mechanic yourself.
I thought you were talking about the driver. Well of course trucks have to be serviced, but many work for a company so it's not their problem. If you are an owner operator, you have those costs figured in with your price.
There are couples who do long haul truck driving together, and why not? It's basically an RV, haul a load in a trailer or two to pay for the lifestyle.
Yes, that is the best way to go if a guy can get his wife to drive too. That truck could be operating 24 hours a day. The more miles you put on, the more money you make.
