130 nations are in negotiations with Trump Team on tariffs .

So the largest economy in the world is 36 trillion dollars in debt and has to borrow every dollar we spend... not sure how that works... but I know it ends badly...
That's what happens when government spends $386k a month for minor website changes, and $11 million for some data services that could be purchased for $5k  Government blows money like it grows on trees without any accountability.

I know... its actually worse than I thought and I'm hearing that same thing from a lot of people... except the libtards here of course...

Trump’s plan is working as designed. Once he gets countries to zero out tariffs, or at least agree to the same low rate for both parties, we will have long term trade agreements that put America in a much better position.

Nobody knows less about tariffs than Trump.

Whoever negotiated that had to be a fool. I think most of us can agree on that!
They think that adjusted trade tariffs are going to improve their lives in some material way.

They think the loss of virtually all of our global trading relationships and alliances is no big deal.

They think that China has no leverage over us.

There is simply no communicating with that.

Is this “Loss of virtually all of our global trading relationships and alliances” in the room with us right now?

What have you identified as possible downsides of Trump's tariffs approach?

I'm sure you carefully considered that question before you chose to support the approach.

Please be specific.

Biggest downside is that people who have tried to convince us Americas best days are behind us will be proven 100% wrong

Yeah, that's the depth of analysis I was expecting.

Okay. Got it.
Oh

Some countries are upset and have hurt feelz that they’re not able to deal unfairly with the US any longer. Their economies will now accept more and cheaper US products

It’s some sort of modern Operation Barbarossa, right?

Fact check: Trump and Vance keep falsely describing how ...

Sep 9, 2024 — Trump and Vance's claims about how tariffs work are false. A tariff is a tax that is paid by US businesses – not other countries.

Trump has falsely, and repeatedly, claimed that China – not US importers – pay the tariff.

"I am going to put tariffs on other countries coming into our country, and that has nothing to do with taxes to us. That is a tax on another country,” Trump said.

In September, he repeated the claim during an interview with Fox News: “It’s not a tax on the middle class. It’s a tax on another country.”

And he said again during a rally in Wisconsin Saturday that “it’s not going to be a cost to you, it’s going to be a cost to another country.”

Vance said in late August that as a result of tariffs Trump imposed during his presidency, “prices went down for American citizens.”

Trump is a MORON.

Making unproven statements is not "fact".
Show examples for different products how 100% of tariffs are paid by US consumers, not just typing unproven/partisan words.

Tariffs are paid by the recipients of products that are under tariffs.
NOT by the country imposing them.

True buyers pay for most of the tariffs, but exporters pay about 5%, and the sellers typically eat a few percent of their mark-up.

What we know about who really pays for tariffs

  • They looked at government data on import prices, and found that importers paid nearly 95% of the tariff cost, and exporters paid the rest (5%).
  • U.S. exporters also ponied up. They wound up cutting prices on goods hit by retaliatory tariffs — mainly commodity agricultural products — purchased by China.
That's hardly the end-game, though. The harder part of the question: "How much can importers then pass along to their different points in the supply chain?" says Bown.
  • Someone who imports widgets for car parts might raise prices levied on the parts manufacturer, who might raise prices levied on the auto assembly company, which would pass that along to dealers, who would jack up up sticker prices.
  • Along the way, some of these companies could shrink margins and absorb some costs, while others might exert pressure to keep prices down.

So bottom line: Do tariffs make US made products cost competitive, like cars? Yes they do, ask the UAW.

That depends.
Where are all those parts being installed IN the cars coming from?

Yes they do, ask the UAW.
Another stooge?
That had 20 people at the press conference?

Adjusting tariffs to zero will have no material impact?

Holy shit you are stupid. :auiqs.jpg:
