Here's an interesting but somewhat forgotten one: Sean Connery's Outland (crystal meth smuggling in space with a touch of High Noon). Interesting because with its production values, it feels like the exact same movie-universe as Alien. During Outland's bar scenes, it's very easy to picture Parker & Brett getting drunk and flirty with the hookers...while grumbling about their damned bonus situation.

I don't think I could say, I have seen so many.
Maybe my top 5...but could change as I remember other ones...
And this is NOT in order.

1) Martian
2) Aliens
3) Interstellar
4) Space Odyssey:2001
5) The Chronicles of Riddick....I know, I know...but I love this movie.

Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed Aliens a lot and watched it multiple times ("Get away from her you BITCH!" was classic). But here's the unique advantage the original Alien has: to this day it still turns me into a nervous wreck every time I see it. It's unique sense of suspense got slowly cranked up to such a degree, it's almost slightly exhausting to experience it.
