It's like NOtVA here.....Any major road that's get widened you have a shit-ton of residential built in the vicinity.....Residential is always a net drain and within a few years you have the same traffic problem.

Widen a road and soon you will see blocks upon blocks of townhouses go up next to it.....Hell, they don't even wait for the road to be done first....Scratch dirt for a road and they will be scratching dirt for new townhouse communities.

We tore down McLouth Steel, a Mill here on the Detroit river and the bitxhes in city hall were screaming to build 2500 condos BUT the street is 2 lane and the area cannot handle the traffic. Thank God The EPA said go fxck your self, the land is contaminated so you cant build condos condos condos ( think taxes and big bonuses for city officials ). George Bush Sr. was stationed 2 miles accross the river at our tiny naval base and he live in Trenton while in the service.

I do and that area of the NJ Turnpike can’t handle the traffic. Widening the road may provide a temporary fix but adjacent roads feeding and exiting can’t handle the traffic
The answer is fewer cars and more use of mass transit to get into NYC. They are now implementing congestion pricing of $15 to enter lower Manhattan. In addition to the $15 you pay to use a tunnel or bridge
Local Republican politicians have blocked building additional rail tunnels
