Actually this opinion has been always heard in Israel, it has been voiced by leaders of Arab minority communities, be it Christians or Muslims.
Fact is they want to remain Israelis, and a significant and very effective part of the minorities are in the army.

The wider support comes from the Arab countries, due to growing initiations of partnerships in a wide variety of projects.
One can see the same trend in the social media.
