Doesn't it make you wonder how climate change became so important about the time that the USA and Canada devised a way to extract as much oil as anyone else in the world with new scientific methods?

Lets see now, let me contemplate. Hmmmmm! We have 2 oceans on our borders, which means with desalinization plants, we have almost an endless supply of water as USA and Canada. We have virtually the best land for crops in the world, and unlike Europe, vast areas of open land to use. Manufacturing prowess,, and then mix in the fact you now have the energy needed to produce, along with prices that are low in global standards.

If you were another country without all these blessings, or continent for that matter; what reason/excuse would you devise to slow these 2 great countries down as much as possible, from basically burying you if they so chose to?

I still wonder exactly how many coal fired plants and suvs were running to make the glaciers that covered a large part of North America recede? How many were running when the earth was a giant snowball? I always ask and no one has ever bothered to explain how CO2 has always lagged warming trends in ice samples. I understand why the CO2 is higher when it is warmer as more things proliferate. But if CO2 is responsible for warming shouldn’t there be higher amounts of it before the warming trend?

Just because the climate changed for one reason in the past, doesn’t mean there can’t be a different reason today. Also, AGW deniers always seem to ignore the time course which can be thousands to millions of years, not the hundreds we’re seeing today.
