WTF is a THOUGHT CRIMES BILL????????

If you had no rights left, you wouldn't be on the internet complaining about how you don't have any rights.

Read this!!! What you speak of is right around the corner. Just because the internet is running today doesn't mean it will be tomorrow and doesn't mean you have any rights or not until they pull the plug now does it???

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill...bill=s110-1959

When you are done with that, you might want to loook over the patriot act. I hope you don't wear blue jeans and have a cell phone because you are now considdered a terrorist if you do.

I hope you don't home school your children because that means you are a terrorist.

And I am still waitig for this list of rights we were denied.

For one thing you can look at section 505. That allows administrative subpoena of personal records without judicial oversight or probable cause. Before he Patriot Act this could only be used against a person if there was reasonable suspicion they were engaged in espionage.

Now they can be used against any person. There's no judicial oversight or review.

That's an erosion of rights. Before, you had a right to be secure in those "papers" except under a subpoena, now you do not.

Come on, I am waiting, provide me a list IN your own words , of rights we lost, then refrence each one to an actual act that granted that right and one that removed it.

Your so sure, it can not possible be hard at all for you to list them can it?

yea, I guess it's easy to point at no dead kids THIS SIDE of the occasion. Monday morning partisan net-herpes just can't seem to miss the opportunity to sling mud despite America's history of dealing with fanatic dogma junkies.

Indeed, since Elion Gonzolez was an American citizen and all the Fed probably should have just shut the fuck up and let him remain kidnapped from his father.

anything to talk shit on the other side, eh valtrex?

I hope you don't home school your children because that means you are a terrorist.

I hope you don't have ANY religeous belief system and or own a gun because that makes you a terroristt...Where did our rights go????????????????????????

Your link goes to a site that doesn't exist (the Grays probably took it down).

And beyond that you're completely nuts based on what I've seen on this site.

The section just amends existing statutes, so looking at 505 along doesn't tell you much. You can google patriot act section 505, but you have to then track down the laws it is amending to see what it does.

I'm basis what I said it does on a summary of the section I read online. Let me see if I can find that.

Is that crickets I hear comming from the cheap seats???

From your link...

this one in reference to 505
November 2001 memorandum prepared by FBI attorneys warned that the letters "must be used judiciously" to appease Congress, since they expire in 2005, along with other Patriot provisions.

Would you know if Section 505 had been used on you: Not unless some action was brought against you based on the information produced.

Sunsets in 2005: No.*

Now explain how it did not go away in 2005 when it is stated IN the story it expired in 2005? If your response is it was repassed in Patriot 2, to damn bad.

Also from your link....

also in reference to 505

The records that can be obtained through the letters under Patriot include telephone logs, e-mail logs, certain financial and bank records, and credit reports, on the assertion that such information would be "relevant" to an ongoing terrorism investigation. They cannot be used in ordinary criminal investigations.

I guess you just missed that last sentence ehh?

And look even Democrats put in portions of Patriot act 1 and 2.... That could be why they also VOTED for it.
