We gave $5 trillion to the banks, huge bailouts to various corporations and debt simply wiped off the books, and yet where are the bailouts for regular Middle Class Americans? We are paying these predatory mortgages still today, while the predators are still snorting coke and buying whores on Wall Street with that tax payer money that was then doled to them in huge million dollar bonuses. And it is wrong to raise their taxes, why? So they drug dealers and whores can stay in ridiculous wealth?

Where are the protesting Libertarian Traitors who throw a snit fit every time anyone proposes helping Americans? They love give a-ways to corporate America, because they are wannabe corporate pirates who hope one day to feast on the carcasses of their fellow Americans also, just like they see corporations doing today.

It isn't just big corporations doing it, either. We have big wreath making businesses here from October to December, which a lot of women count on to earn Christmas cash and help through the winter. Need men in shipping/receiving, as well. The past couple years, the company has been bringing in busloads of Haitians or Hispanics to do a lot of the work. They house them in dormitory type lodging and it is apparently STILL better for the company than hiring locals. In Bar Harbor, a huge summer tourist town, hotels bring in Filipinos and other immigrants for housekeeping and kitchen staff. Why do we suddenly need people here from another country? These aren't highly trained tech jobs, for sure. The optimist in me wants to believe it is because they are seasonal jobs and most everyone around here has a steady job, but I don't actually believe that; actually I know that's not true. I think it is because a lot of women are doing much better on welfare, or because the average seasonal worker is undependable, or because the company is somehow making money by bringing these immigrants in.

I'm not sure of your point. The vast majority of those not in the labor force don't want a job. We're talking retirees, disabled, housewives, full time students, independently wealthy, etc. And the 5.7 million not in the labor force who say they do want a job aren't doing anything about it, 3.3 million haven't done anything at all...even ask a friend if they knew of anything, in the last year. We have 6 million involuntary part time workers, 8 million unemployed still looking for work, and 2 million 'marginally attached' that want work but have simply given up.

And yes, some of these are foreign born looking for work whic again supports my contention as these people still draw from our welfare services.

We need to give top priority to hiring Americans (via retraining them if needed) and then hiring those foreign born already here, then consider bringing in more guest workers.

So the point is place immigration on hold till we clean up the current mess and find work for those currently residing in the USA and its citizens first of all, then maybe consider more H1-B visa applicants after about 10 or 20 years of making sure every American that wants to work can find work..
