Wisconsin: Don't Retreat or Reload...Recall!

The governor and other Republicans in Wisconsin did not campaign on overturning collective bargaining rights.

Obama didn't campaign on wrecking the dollar... but here we are.

Wow... from the 'fucking stupid' file. You've no concept of economic cause and effect do you?

"In The Nation, Eric Alterman assails the Republican-controlled Congress’s decision to scrap the popular and effective Build America Bonds program as an act of little-noticed class warfare:

So the republicans control the senate now too? The only ones focused on class warfare are the leftists who desire to segregate people and play them against each other.

And commondreams.org??? what a bunch of whackaloon hooey.
Obama and Walker serve at Wall Street's discretion. Neither one could have raised enough money to win high office without the blessings of Big Money. If the dollar has died and nobody's noticed, it will be the richest 1% of Americans who benefit initially.

Feel free to explain the economic concept of cause and effect as it applies to the $12.9 trillion in bailouts and guarantees US taxpayers awarded the richest two percent of Americans.

"Thanks largely to the $13 trillion Wall Street bailout – while keeping the debt overhead in place for America’s 'bottom 98 per cent' – this happy 2 per cent of the population now receives an estimated three quarters (~75 per cent) of the returns to wealth (interest, dividends, rent and capital gains).

"This is nearly double what it received a generation ago. The rest of the population is being squeezed, and foreclosures are rising."

Obama's Greatest Betrayal...

Why try to recall republicans who are just doing their jobs? Can't wait until the next election? Want to show the world how a bunch of radical lefties can intimidate a state? Incindiary terms like "retreat" and "reload" are part of the left wing intimidation tactics. The darling of the radical left (and political mentor to the president), murderer and bomber Bill Ayers, is an example of the way the left uses intimidation and terrorism rather than work within the system.
"William Charles "Bill" Ayers (born December 26, 1944)[1] is an American elementary education theorist and a former leader in the movement that opposed U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War.

"He is known for his 1960s activism as well as his current work in education reform, curriculum, and instruction. In 1969 he co-founded the Weather Underground, a self-described communist revolutionary group[2] that conducted a campaign of bombing public buildings during the 1960s and 1970s, in response to U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War.

"He is a retired professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, formerly holding the titles of Distinguished Professor of Education and Senior University Scholar."

Ayer's violence was in response to US killing in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Millions in those countries died so right-wing radicals in the US could celebrate their "shining city on a hill" while assassinating John and Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King.

Translation: "I am making excuses for the deaths and violence Ayers caused..."

*NICE*:eusa_eh:
How many deaths did he cause?

From Wiki:

"Ayers participated in the bombings of New York City Police Department headquarters in 1970, the United States Capitol building in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972, as he noted in his 2001 book, Fugitive Days. Ayers writes:

"'Although the bomb that rocked the Pentagon was itsy-bitsy - weighing close to two pounds - it caused 'tens of thousands of dollars' of damage.

"'The operation cost under $500, and no one was killed or even hurt.[18]

"Some media reports and political critics have suggested that Ayers, Dohrn or the Weathermen were connected to the fatal 1970 San Francisco Police Department Park Station bombing but neither Ayers nor anyone else has been charged or convicted of this crime...

"In 1973, new information came to light about FBI operations targeted against Weather Underground and the New Left, all part of a series of covert and often illegal FBI projects called COINTEL.[20]

"Due to the illegal tactics[clarification needed] of FBI agents involved with the program, government attorneys requested all weapons- and bomb-related charges be dropped against the Weather Underground, including charges against Ayers."

There aren't any good excuses for Ayers's violence; however, compared to "the greatest purveyor of violence on this planet", he's a candidate for sainthood.

That certainly is an impressive endorsement.
positively ringing.

He's not helping his case for being considered rational very much, is he?

Next thing you know he'll be telling us how unless it's "rape rape" it doesn't count.

I see American history more clearly than you.

"American democracy arose because those consciously locked out of the system put their bodies on the line and demanded justice. The exclusion of the poor and the working class from the systems of power in this country was deliberate.

"The Founding Fathers deeply feared popular democracy.

"They rigged the system to favor the elite from the start, something that has been largely whitewashed in public schools and by a corporate media that has effectively substituted myth for history.

"Europe’s poor, fleeing to America from squalid slums and workhouses in the 17th and 18th centuries, were viewed by the privileged as commodities to exploit.

"Slaves, Native Americans, indentured servants, women, and men without property were not represented at the Constitutional Conventions.

"And American history, as Howard Zinn illustrated in 'The People’s History of the United States,' is one long fight by the marginalized and disenfranchised for dignity and freedom.

"Those who fought understood the innate cruelty of capitalism."

Do you see yet?

Count how many of the top 20 campaign donors are unions:

Top All-Time Donors, 1989-2010 | OpenSecrets

The answer:

11

And note how the vast majority of their money went to the Dems. This is really what the Fracas is all about: keeping the money laundering scheme of funneling taxpayer dollars to unions, who then donate back to the Dems for pay and bennies, wash rinse repeat.
Representing tens of millions of Americans engaged in productive labor.

Contrast that with the $900,000 + Goldman Sachs donated to Obama. More than four times what it gave to McCain.

It is not the "money laundering scheme" between taxpayers, elected Democrats and unions that inflated and collapsed housing and credit bubbles.

That was Wall Street working with Republicans AND Democrats with more than a little help from the Federal Reserve.

The shifting of the tax burden off Finance, Insurance and Real Estate over the last three decades is one big reason states like Wisconsin are in deficit today.

Weak. 11 of the top 20 donors are unions, many representing public employees who are covered by civil service protections. The only reason for donating to politicians is to stick it to taxpayers for even higher pay and benefits, and less work to boot.
What role did those 11 unions play in the collapse of Bear Stearns?

AIG??

Lehman Brothers???

The only reason for donating to politicians is to stick it to taxpayers, and Wall Street is much better at it than unions.

How many trillions of taxpayer dollars flowed into union coffers during the last two years?

How many trillion$ flowed into Wall Street's?

It all boils down to the obscene amount of money infused into our election system. Money from lobbyists, money from donors, money from unions. Anonymous money at that!

The true fix is a limit on the amount of money that can be donated to a campaign or measure and to make it 100% transparent. No more of the Boehner handing out checks from lobbyists on the House floor either.

I am amazed that people are not more outraged that banking and private energy and utility companies provides 5 lobbyists for every 1 legislator. Why is there not more anger at the fact that there were EIGHT lobbyists for every legislator during the health insurance reform debate and health insurance companies shelled out over a BILLION (that's billion with a "B") in lobbying money? Our elected representatives are being openly bought off by big business and special interests and we aren't doing a goddamn thing about it.

It is long past time to limit donations and throw the money changers...I mean lobbyists out of the temple, er, Washington.

Judge blocks contentious Wisconsin union law
Associated Press – Fri Mar 18, 2011

MADISON, Wis. – ..... A judge temporarily blocked the law from taking effect, raising the possibility that the Legislature may have to vote again to pass the bill that attracted protests as large as 85,000 people, motivated Senate Democrats to escape to Illinois for three weeks and made Wisconsin the focus of the national fight over union rights.

But Walker's spokesman and Republican legislative leaders indicated they would press on with the court battle rather than consider passing the bill again.

..... Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne filed the lawsuit this week alleging the open meetings law was violated because 24 hours' notice wasn't given for a meeting of the special legislative committee convened to amend the bill.

Justice Department attorneys argued that notice on a bulletin board posted about two hours before the committee meeting was to start last Wednesday was sufficient under rules of the Senate.

The judge said DOJ couldn't show the committee was exempt from the 24-hour notice requirement. She said Ozanne could ultimately win the case and ordered Secretary of State Doug La Follette to hold off on publishing the law — the last step before it can take effect. La Follette had planned to publish the law on March 25.

Perhaps those business leaders in Washington will demand a refund on their "investment"
until Governor Walker and the Wisconsin Republicans actually deliver them the "goods!"

Oh of course there's no class hatred going on here.

You just have come out on the side of the rich having the right to be denigrated and spat upon while being given the privilege of having their wealth confiscated by a bunch of envy crazed revolutionaries to distribute mere token amounts to those they really care fore while growing fat on the profit of the act of looting.

Of course, I find no end to the humor in that the far left is turning on P-BO because he's not leftist enough and hasn't started barging into the estates with guns and agents to frog walk the wealthy to prison while confiscating everything like Robespierre and his mobs of 'revolutionary justice'.

We conservatives and libertarians be hip to that shit too.

The obscene amount of money circulating in US politics has a common source: the corporation. Rich individuals and even unions depend on privileges of incorporation to acquire the money they hand out to politicians.

Some political problems in this country are too big to solve by "choosing" between Democrat OR Republican, I suspect this is one of the biggest examples.

I think people are not outraged by corporate corruption because corporate media and corporate celebrities are constantly working overtime to distract them.

In theory, the internet could convince a majority of Americans to cut back on television and educate themselves; however, the world may have to become far more unfriendly than it is today before enough American eyes open.

HAH! you stumbled across a truth! no fucking way! You could miss a point tattooed in reverse on your forehead.

Money isn't the issue, hiding the sources of money is. You cannot take money out of politics and have an educated electorate. Therefore campaign finance should be an utterly open and transparent system. So if someone's being bought by agribusiness, you can clearly see that.

I think people are not outraged by corporate corruption because corporate media and corporate celebrities are constantly working overtime to distract them.

[cautious whisper] do.... :::looks both ways:::: do the JEWS control the media and everything too??? [/cautious whisper]

It does seem disingenuous (at least) when apparently well educated posters on USMB deny the historical existence of class war on this planet.

Maybe their pensions are on the line?

Consider the possibility that if the fight for a 40 hour work week and paid vacations hadn't gotten ugly those demands would never have been met.

Power concedes nothing without a demand.

It doesn't matter if a King or a corporation wields the power.

This is about union membership, thus about union dues, thus about money going to Democrats. Quit bringing up ancient history to justify the deceptions being perped on us today.
Nothing ancient about the multi-trillion dollar taxpayer bailout of Wall Street that spawned the current revenue shortages in Wisconsin and elsewhere.

Or maybe you think union dues are responsible for the Great Recession?

He mentioned the 40 hr work week.

WTF does that have to do with Wall Street?

Besides, WTF does Wall Street have to do with Wisconsin?

Wisconsin is going broke because they made agreements with unions that they can't deliver on. Now the unions don't want to budge. That has nothing to do with Wall Street.

Obama gave them Stimulus money to bail them out. Many states tried to refuse the money for a couple of reasons. One of them was because they didn't need it and the other is they had to accept terms that they knew would be unsustainable. Obama offered them dimes and the states knew each of those dimes would cost them a dollar. Again, Wall Street had nothing to do with this.

Or perhaps this moment could help teach Americans about Abraham Lincoln's corporate prophecy?

"The turning point was the Civil War.

"Corporations made huge profits from procurement contracts and took advantage of the disorder and corruption of the times to buy legislatures, judges and even presidents.

"Corporations became the masters and keepers of business.

"President Abraham Lincoln foresaw terrible trouble.

"Shortly before his death, he warned that 'corporations have been enthroned . . . . An era of corruption in high places will follow and the money power will endeavor to prolong its reign by working on the prejudices of the people . . . until wealth is aggregated in a few hands . . . and the republic is destroyed.'

"President Lincoln's warning went unheeded.

"Corporations continued to gain power and influence. They had the laws governing their creation amended. State charters could no longer be revoked.

"Corporate profits could no longer be limited.

"Corporate economic activity could be restrained only by the courts, and in hundreds of cases judges granted corporations minor legal victories, conceding rights and privileges they did not have before."

What percentage of today's judges practiced corporate law?

Does anybody see a pattern here?

Obama tells businesses that they have to take bailout money with conditions.

He tells them how to run their companies, and for some strange reason the conditions are to do things they know will hurt their bottom-line.

He's done it with every bank or financial institution he's bailed out. Every auto company. Every state. He tells them they must run their business in a manner that they know will end up ruining them.

Now everyone he's dealt with is going broke (but they will never admit it). But if they dare to say anything he releases the dogs on them. If new management tries to fix things somebody shows up to protest their homes. Scott Walker is just the latest victim.

He and his friends have the Middle East on fire.

Obama for some reason is causing chaos everywhere he goes and with everything he touches. Now he wants to go to South and Central America to set up the same thing there.

Bingo.

And I hope they keep up this Spoilt Brat Temper Tantrum Display all the way up to the 2012 election. It's a great reminder for the People That Do regarding the real problem.
