Why the poor/underclass of this nation are NOT paying their share, doing their share!

I've watched for 2 years now as the left continues it's massive class warfare assault on the most productive citizens of this nation. It's quite sickening, really. I can't count how many lefties I've heard say the rich "need to pay their fair share". By "fair" the basically mean the rich just need to pay even more, because the current government entitlements are not meeting the demands of the left wing. It has nothing to do with "fair".

The rich already pay more, FAR more, in both % of income, and just net total of $$ paid to the government. The top 25% of earners in this nation basically fund the gov't that serves the other 75%. And whatever, for a gov't to work, it needs some $$. And to fund our massive military, and the best social support net in the world imo, we do have to take more in % and total $$ from the wealthier. But why, then, do we continue to target them? And with such hatred?

You lefties are directing your hatred towards the most productive people in the country? They have paid their "fair share". The middle class have also, by paying taxes AND doing the brunt of stability work in our middle class that supports this nation's success.


But now, lets talk about the "poor" who supposedly already pay their "fair share" since the left never blames them. I've already posted time and time again the stats from the Census Bureau that show our "poor" aren't poor at all, but rather would be middle class globally. Our "poor" enjoy comforts unseen by much of the world. Hell, our poor are OBESE. That says something very significant.


But lets see. And this is not directed at all poor people, but many:

- Many of our poor do drugs. Thats a big reason they remain poor, or got poor.
- Many of our poor PLAY THE LOTTERY. Yep. Go to any gas station in a "poor" area. You'll see countless folks buying "tickets" daily. Wasting money. Yet.....they are helpless and have no way to thrive. Add their yearly lottery spending, and they could probably buy a semester at a local community tech college.
- Many of our poor are lazy. Yep. They simply do not want to strive. There are jobs out there that suck, but PAY, and they just dont wanna do them. They dont wanna be the garbage man. Or deliver pizzas. Or be a janitor. They'd rather sit home, collect checks, and wait on the left to say the rich "owe" them more.

I just can't help but see so many of our "poor" are have enough money to get fat. Enough to get a cell phone. And cable. And air conditioning. And a car. And the newest FUBU clothes, or ipods, or latest rap CD. Or latest NASCAR video game. I can't help but notice that while our poor are scratching by on almost nothing, they somehow find enough money to play 5 lotto tickets a day and buy a case of beer.

And, just as I did this morning, I can't help but notice every Sunday morning, the classifieds in the newspaper has dozens and dozens if not hundreds of jobs locally for pizza delivery, car washer staff, janitor, trash collector, sanitation worker, landscape labor, dish washer at the countless bars/pubs in Charleston, etc, etc, etc.................and then later in the day I see on the local TV news yet another story about the "poor" who are so oppressed........and the rich who aren't "Paying their fair share".

Why does the left attack the people who are most productive in this country? Why is the left not starting a massive campaign saying "Poor people of America, stats show you spend $1,000 a year on average for lottery tickets, spend that on a semester at community college instead"

Or, other slogans that would help the poor if the left would adopt them:

For the losers in the hood who bitch about the rich not paying their fair share, but somehow while being "poor" found enough money for an iphone, new rims for their car, and the newest P Diddy clothing?

Or for the lazy, unproductive "poor" people who whine about the gov't not helping them, while in that same day's newspaper are countless classified ads for low level employment that they COULD be working, but simpy refuse to do?

Well, rather than just call it stupidity, put forth a rational argument against it. Other than saying it's reverse class warfare. Because the middle/upper class are tired of being ridiculed, while the poor in this country sit back and refuse to improve themselves or carry their own weight.

I'll check to find out what the show was, but last Sunday, the 5th, on local Charleston radio 94.3 fm (I'll check their website) there was a conservative talk show host who took a call from a caller in Miami, FL. The caller was whining about how he couldn't find work, how the gov't needed to help him, how the GOP was trying to hurt him, etc, etc, etc.

Anyway, the conservative host went online, the local Miami classifieds while the man talked. The caller said "I'd love to have a job teaching, maybe making 45, 50K a year. Or maybe a job in music, or something like that, but theres no work..."

Then the host stopped him. He said "Sir, would you work for up to $25 an hour?" The caller said "Well, yeah, but theres no jobs..........." the host cut him off again and said "Sir, Dominos Pizza in Miami, FL is posting classifieds looking for delivery drivers, and it says they earn up to $25 an hour."

The caller was dumbfounded and claimed the host was making it up. The host said no, it's right here in the paper, and he asked the caller if he had looked at the Miami classifieds, and the caller mumbled, stalled, etc, and claimed he had not, and the host basically punked him and said don't whine about what the Dems or GOP or rich are doing when you refuse to accept a good paying job that is available.

And thats the problem. We got 20-somethings in the ghettos who refuse to work these jobs, and yet keep finding time to buy lottery tickets, and keep finding $$ and time to record their personal rap CD's, because every time I'm at Best Buy, flocks of the "poor" are trying to sell their own CD's in the parking lot.

And it's funny, go into a gas station anytime from 8-5, you'll see the poor, in sweat pants and a tank top, buying beer and lottery tickets. Hmmmm. Meanwhile......Dominos Pizza is hiring.

And when in his back-to-school speech he told the nation's children "Here's your job. Showing up to school on time. Paying attention in class. Doing your homework. Studying for exams. Staying out of trouble. That kind of discipline and drive - the kind of hard work - is absolutely essential for success." that was inappropriate indoctrination on the President's part.

And when he praised community colleges and forged public-private partnerships to make community colleges a crucial piece of his goal of seeing the U.S. lead the world in college graduates in a decade, the response from our friends on the right seemed muted.

Well, in fairness, yes, some die-hard Republicans did have issues with him saying that, and they were wrong, because Obama was right about that. Just like M. Obama is right to push nutrition in schools (wrong to ban it, but 100% right to promote it).

But that didn't play politically well for Obama. Poor people don't wanna be told what they are gonna have to do to get ahead, they wanna be told what someone else is gonna do for them to get them ahead.

If Obama came out today and said: "Raising taxes on the rich is not gonna fix the unemployment problem for the poor. Only the poor staying in school, working jobs that maybe they dont wanna work but have to, spending that small bit of extra money on education rather than a new phone or game......only the personal sacrifice by the poor will get them to a better life".............if Obama said that, it would truly make him a breakthrough politician. Politicians want votes. And telling someone "I can't help you, only you can help you" will not earn votes.

I guess you are making the argument that the rich pay enough, so you think you should pay more to support the poor in poverty in America. Which that makes sense, as your tax rate should be about 75% for all the services you have been using from the federal government. One thing for sure, the Trillions of debt you owe wasn't put there by the poor in this nation.

Everything else in your dribble is a generalization and cannot be taken seriously. Capitalism by it's very nature creates a top tier and and a bottom tier of poverty, and you are just seeing the results of the system you prefer to use. In socialist countrys everyone is about the same teir, have food, clothing & shelter & jobs. So it seems you are arguing the productive want to have a socialist economy, instead of a capitalist economy, which I think the left would support. I was looking at some rims (4) for my 300 touring that were $1200. and that included the tires. When I was a kid, just one 14" inch mag was that much. Technology sure brought the price down.
