Why the Left Doesn't Care about $9.7 Trillion Debt

The ultimate goal of these leftist socialists ie; obama, pelosi, reid, and the other dimwits is to tear down our society and usher in socialism. They are unAmerican and should be thrown out of the country.

The real question is why did the right "create" such a debt?

2.5 trillion tax cut
3 trillion in war
trillion stimulus package
Who knows how much wasted on Katrina cleanup that never happened?
Who know how much their drug package cost?

Then the left get's stuck with this mess. Worse, the Republicans, the very people who created this disaster, think they know how to clean it up? Are they insane?
Obama has spent more in 13 months than Bush did in 8 years. Stop blaming Bush, this Obamas problem.

More talking-point garbage.

Not to mention the fact that it's completely false.

This pretty much sums it up.

"Deficits of that magnitude would force the Treasury to continue borrowing at prodigious rates, sending the national debt soaring to 90 percent of the economy by 2020, the CBO said."

CNN adds that "By 2020 the (CBO) estimates debt held by the public would reach $20.3 trillion, or 90 percent of GDP. That's up from 53 percent of GDP in 2009."

I suspect that most Americans, if asked whether these numbers trouble the Democratic leadership and President Obama, would answer in the affirmative.

They would be wrong.

They would be wrong not because the Democratic Party or the president are economically illiterate or bad individuals, but because the Democratic Party and the president are leftists. And most Americans, including most Democrats, do not understand the left. They may understand liberalism; but President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and most Democratic representatives and senators are not liberals; they are leftists. And most Americans do not understand the difference between liberal and left. They do not realize, for example, that there is no major difference between the American Democratic Party and the leftist social democratic parties of Western Europe. They do not know that from Karl Marx to Obama, the left (as opposed to liberals) has never created wealth because it has never been interested in creating wealth; it is interested in redistributing wealth.

Therefore, unprecedented and unsustainable debt, a debt that will negatively affect most Americans' quality of life, renders the dollar increasingly undesirable, and undermines America's prestige and power in the world -- these developments do not particularly disturb the left. They may trouble the president, the Democratic Party, and others on the left on some political level, but that pales in comparison to what the left really wants: a huge government overseeing a giant welfare state and a country with far fewer rich Americans.

Achieving those goals is far more important than preventing a decline in the American quality of life. The further left one goes, the more contempt one has for the present quality of American life in any event. The left regularly mocks many of the symbols of that life -- from the three-bedroom suburban house surrounded by a white picket fence to owning an SUV (or almost any car) because Americans should be traveling on public buses, trains and bicycles.

one must destroy it before one can "fundamentally change" it. "We are the ones we've been waiting for." :eusa_whistle:

First proposed in 1966 and named after Columbia University sociologists Richard Andrew Cloward and his wife Frances Fox Piven (today Piven is an honorary chair for the Democratic Socialists of America), the "Cloward-Piven Strategy" seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.

Inspired by the August 1965 riots in the black district of Watts in Los Angeles (which erupted after police had used batons to subdue a black man suspected of drunk driving), Cloward and Piven published an article titled "The Weight of the Poor: A Strategy to End Poverty" in the May 2, 1966 issue of The Nation. Following its publication, The Nation sold an unprecedented 30,000 reprints. Activists were abuzz over the so-called "crisis strategy" or "Cloward-Piven Strategy," as it came to be called. Many were eager to put it into effect.

In their 1966 article, Cloward and Piven charged that the ruling classes used welfare to weaken the poor; that by providing a social safety net, the rich doused the fires of rebellion. Poor people can advance only when "the rest of society is afraid of them," Cloward told The New York Times on September 27, 1970. Rather than placating the poor with government hand-outs, wrote Cloward and Piven, activists should work to sabotage and destroy the welfare system; the collapse of the welfare state would ignite a political and financial crisis that would rock the nation; poor people would rise in revolt; only then would "the rest of society" accept their demands.
Never trust a married couple that has seperate names. This is so true, it is exactly what Obama and the leftists beleive in.

Why the Left Doesn't Care about $9.7 Trillion Debt

Actually the question should have been why the left and right do not care about the 9.7 TTTTrillion debt?

Each faction has pet projects and don't give a fuck about how is it going to be paid.

1- The right wants to invade every country on the face of mother earth. There are presently extremely expensive, unnecessary military actions in Iraq, AfPak ;

2- the right is still conducting its civil war against drug users;

3- the left wingers want to clothe, feed, provide shelter , and of course , also health care to every parasite who promises them power.

And so it goes.

.

"Starve the Beast" is a Republican concept, not a progressive one.

How novel that you're trying to pin the blame for your own side's actions on the Democrats, and assign some sort of conspiracy theory motivation for it all. :clap2:

Or it would be novel, if the tactic hadn't been so excellently described by Mr George Orwell, in a little book he wrote called "1984".

You have no clue what Obama or any progressive-type believes in.

You only know what the right-wing talking points tell you we believe in.

Well, because you know, well, Bush did it too.......

duh.

Hypocrites much????

Let me guess? One of you idiots actually believed anything Obama has done so far was for the good of our nation?

Suckers at every corner.

simply not true what so ever, and you, are taking someone's word without looking at the numbers yourself....if you had, then you would not have said, what you said....

don't trust the partisan media from either side! follow thru yourself to confirm it....is your best bet!

The Bush debt meant absolutely nothing to Obama, that FACT has to painfully clear for all. There was never any intention of fxing Bush, and so far, he has exceeded or maintained Bush at every turn.

Looks like the new boss, just like the old boss.............

Some day we will have a President again to replace these posers Bush and Obama.

Ahh yes, and the reverse "Blame Bush" defense rears it's head again.

Don't you right-wingers ever tire of this talking point?

Are we supposed to ignore history when you people talk about how relatively "horrible" Obama supposedly is?

Wouldn't that be convenient for you.

Nevermind the fact that I was talking about all presidents over the last 30 years, not just Bush...

While I don't like the debt myself, Bush left Obama with a massive deficit and an economy in a near-depression.

Obama has hardly ADDED any spending at all, aside from stimulus spending.

However, that being said, he hasn't CUT the spending levels that were left for him at all, which was not well-done on his part.

The problem is the fact that tax receipts have dropped so far due to the failed economy.

I kept my maiden name for 12 years after we were married, and did not stop using it until I stopped working....I had years in the field I was in with name recognition and I tried to change over to my married last name, even tried the hyphenated thing with the maiden and the new married name and the industry never accepted it and continued to call me by the name they always knew me by....which is a very simple last name compared to my husband's family name which is .....11 letters....even when my husband makes reservations for us to eat out, HE USES my maiden last name to book it rather than his last name because of how badly people mess it up when trying to pronounce it!

soooooooooo, bulloney on not trusting a married couple using 2 last names!

ROFLMNAO...

National debt is roughly 12.5 trillion... the rolling tab for The Costs of the New Deal and The Great Society and subsequent expansions of those policy failures... is now roughly 12.5 trillion...

Hmmm....

The thing to understand, is that entitlement programs are DESIGNED to bankrupt the culture... where Americans went wrong, was we tolerated idiocy, on the absurd premise that 'they're Americans too... and they have a right to their opinion.'

Two things: There are no Leftist Americans... and there is no right to advaocate for immoral, unsound, unsustainable policy; the only potential result of which, is bankruptcy...

The debt was 10 trillion, now its 12.5 trillion so according to the Obama calculator it only went up 2.5%

By passing ObamaCare costs will decrease 500 billion percent!

Republicans started caring about the debt as soon as they were out of power and realized that they wouldn't get to spend on what they wanted anymore.

No Carb, we never realized we could just "deem" laws passed or we would have privatized Social Security, closed the Department of Ed and pulled Freddie and Fannie back from the brink before the Dems shoved the US housing market off the cliff.

And, to all of you that think I'm just a "Blame Bush"-er, I'll say this:

1.5 Trillion dollars of Bush's debt is not his fault, but can be blamed on interest on the debt his predecessors left him.

Likewise 432 Billion of the Reagan/Bush era 3.5 Trillion dollar addition to our debt can be blamed on Johnson, Carter and Nixon.

There, see, I apply the same logic to both sides.
