Why labor unions can't win

Newsflash: Reagan is dead.
And once a Democrat...and these jerks are still sore Reagan left that party...:eusa_whistle:

It's like anything the dems do can be excused by pointing out what some Republican 50 years ago did that was kinda sorta similar. Like that makes it OK.
Indeed. The "...but HE did it too..." schtick is getting a bit stale and better left to these petulant children for us to laugh at.

I have no problem with unions and unionism.

1. Covered by freedom of assembly in the Constitution

2. They serve as part of the checks and balances necessary in a market economy

3. If any object to public employee unions, take it up with the corrupt politicians who sign away the public fisc.

Private sector unions are fine if the workers want them. Public sector unions should be illegal.

Your view is based on a lack of understanding of human nature.

How can you deny any worker's desire for 'more'?

No....the flaw is in the corrupt politician who sees an increase in his votes if he gives away taxpayer funds.
That is bribery.

And it seems that the pols have been able to mislead you into blaming those who are doing no more than what David Copperfield did, asking for more porridge.

So porridge in the pot in like vote buying today?

Did you know that tax breaks to attract business is a giveaway of taxpayers dough?

Unions are destined to fail because they depend on having leverage in negotiations. When they don't have leverage the power of labor in the market falls and unions go away.

One of the major problems our nation is facing is trying to find a way to move on from unions while still giving labor a voice. The understanding of labor issues has to grow from the focused view of unions to a more national view of labor in the US. Unfortunately the only real hope labor has is in government and there doesn't seem to be much hope there. In part because so many Americans look down on labor even when they are it.

Not when the Unions BILK the system beyond it's means and the LEADERS of them are living high on the hog...at the members' expense.

Spare us.:eusa_hand: Want to get ahead? Do so on your OWN merit and not because you have union goons backing you.

That seems like a very arbitrary rule to have. I have a hard time believing others will be so naive as to try and take that high road.

If unions did what they were designed to do, I would have nothing wrong with them either. But given that they are hellbent on destroying those who don't simply give them what they want, I see no reason for unionism to exist.
No they are not. The union does nothing but serve as a tool. The people in charge are the issue. Just like in governments. Government isn't the problem, the people are and how they handle things.

Again a basic union is a good thing which it seems you agree with.

It's called honor, hard work and sweat equity, you know? What Built this nation. Might like to try it some time.
Too bad those that practice it are being sold out and OFF their jobs.

No. Honorable. Something YOU lack.

You have an entire political party that believes in "prosperity through lower wages".
