why is the Economy so good under Obumba?

The economy has done well, and bad, under Obama, Bush 2, Clinton, Bush 1, Reagan, Carter, and so on.

Just shows...the private sector can thrive DESPITE bad government. South Carolina's government is about one step above the Congo. But that state's economy has been booming the past few years, bringing countless jobs from other states here. WHy? Because the even the small, inept GOP govt running this state can't fuck it up.

Yep. SC's GOP led government is a clusterfuck, but thats the point, it is SMALL enough that even being that fucked up it doesn't ruin the economy. Meanwhile, states with BIG liberal gov'ts, like Illinois, Michigan, Washington State, have all lost jobs to South Carolina because of big labor and high taxes.

The new Hussein slogan is what? Forward? We are back to windmills for God's sake. The Chevy Volt should be the symbol of the Obama years. A pretty hunk of junk that only elitist liberals can afford and you only get about 30 miles before you need another charge.

CNNMoney - Business, financial and personal finance news the stock market is doing great and Unemployment is down.. why are things doing so well?

The stock market is run and controlled by speculators the unemployment numbers are controlled by obama's labor department. You do the math.

^this is kind of what i was thinking.. except you forgot to mention the Federal Reserve printing up $ and buying bad debt.. :eusa_shifty:

You didn't mention the federal reserve You were talking about the stock market and the economy. What business is it of our's too tell a private bank how to run it's affairs?

ASK Wilson and the progressives since Wilson signed the Federal Reserve into being...

With that said, You do have to give him props for stopping bush's mess. Now the focus is on getting ourselves out of this hole, which won't be easy.

Bushes mess with the help of a democratic controlled congress with a Junior senator obama just to spice up the mix

well, in all fairness Bush sucked big time also. yes, Obumba is Awful and would appear to be even worse than Bush right now though.

If obama can get everyone now unemployed on some sort of public benefit program, he can get the UE rate to zero.

he threw a lot of band aides onto the the bullet holes.

we are still leaking, and the band-aides won't work for long.

there's just only so much spending to prop this and that up you can do before people stop looking at official government numbers and start looking at their own.

I hope, foolishly, that Mitt will be different and actually act like a conservative on the economy. If he does, he might pull us out. If he goes back to his moderate ways...

well

Greece comes to mind.

To jog everyone's memory, George W. Bush - a Republican - was the man who set the precedent that it's OK for the Federal Government to "bail out" a private bank (under guidance of his Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson).

Thanks to legislation that Bush enacted in 2008 (a month or so before Obama was sworn in), our private banking industry now knows that no matter how bad they mess up, there will always be a Federal Gov't there who will swoop in to rescue them in times of great need. How's that for an incentive? Be as risky as you like, because we'll be there to protect you no matter what.

Question of the Day: Why do conservatives still support the Republican Party?

Congress holds the purse strings of the nation. Who held Congress?

Things are doing so well Gracie? Really?

I have family members staying with me [that I fully financially support] that can't find work under ANY circumstances.

WTF are you going on about?

They should have gone to college - equip themselves to succeed.

I always laugh when people act like a single instance trumps the numbers that reflect what is going on for the vast majority of Americans.
