We're damn lucky ebola hasn't mutated
She should be kept in quarantine until there is no threat of contagion. There is no civil right to spread a deadly disease.
Spoken like a true left wing imbecile. There is already no threat of contagion. More importantly, there is no legal grounds to imprison her. And no grounds for a liberty loving people to tolerate such an imprisonment.
The issue I have is that these people who are caring for Ebola patients overseas are allegedly professionals. As such, they should gladly carry out their respective oaths to do no harm and then accept their quarantine without trepidation.Such drama. The bigger question is why she didn't volunteer for it if there was any chance she could pass it on? I don't think they are doing it for the pleasure of denying someone freedom of movement.

So, should every health care professional who has treated an Ebola patient in the US be quarantined?
So what would you have them do? Risk spreading the disease?
Cry me a river already. Boo hoo, next thread. Please.
You volunteered for a month long plus program and you can't add another three weeks of quarantine to your do gooder schedule to make sure you don't start an epidemic here?So what would you have them do? Risk spreading the disease?
.....
So that's a yes? You think that all the health care workers who have treated Ebola patients in the US should be quarantined?
Wow.
You volunteered for a month long plus program and you can't add another three weeks of quarantine to your do gooder schedule to make sure you don't start an epidemic here?
Step one of defeating Ebola in Africa is making sure none of the disease can actually spread here. All that go to Africa to treat ebola patients should be quarantined for at least a month upon return. It seems to be good enough for our military who are not supposed to have any contact but were ordered there. So it sure as hell should be good enough for any volunteer directly treating these people.
Oh I see, if they treated someone in Africa or treated an illegal here in the states we need different policies. Who the fuck wouldn't have thought maybe you should treat them all the same? You volunteered for a month long plus program and you can't add another three weeks of quarantine to your do gooder schedule to make sure you don't start an epidemic here?

Hey, brain damage, try to keep up. The question was whether health care workers who have treated Ebola patients in the US should be quarantined for three weeks?

Then the simple answer is the workers should say fuck you very much, you go treat them. You volunteered for a month long plus program and you can't add another three weeks of quarantine to your do gooder schedule to make sure you don't start an epidemic here?

Simple answer is yes. This isn't a situation where you just get to punch your time card and go home. You don't seem to care if they pose a risk or not.

No, they should treat the people of their own country with the same concern as they did the ones they went to help. And that would begin and end with not spreading the disease they are supposed to be trying to stop. Then the simple answer is the workers should say fuck you very much, you go treat them. You volunteered for a month long plus program and you can't add another three weeks of quarantine to your do gooder schedule to make sure you don't start an epidemic here?

They know when they leave they are taking a risk, They need to follow through with the precautions that come with entering that risk. I personally think part of this great humanitarian effort of the benevolent snowflakes should be 21 days in quarantine in Africa. Keep the shit there. But since they return here and seem to think they are super special at least stay put for 21 days here.
