Not so long ago, high schoolers lived in fear of pregnancy. The girl would have to leave school, and was generally sent away to have the child. The boy would be held responsible and would be required to provide child support, which generally meant leaving school and getting a job.

Excluding most suicides, about 16,000 people were killed yearly by guns in the United States

About 41,000 people in the United States die after overdosing on opioids.

About 10,000 people in the United States die in alcohol-impaired vehicle crashes.

In infant mortality under-5 (per 1000 live births) US is in 32 place (Greece, Latvia, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia are ahead of us). If the infant mortality was as in Iceland, about 17,000 lives would be saved.

About 250,000 Americans die each year from medical errors.

You left out abortion, by which well over a million innocents die annually.

How many abortions would be obviated if age appropriate sex ed was part of public eductiion, if contaception was discussed and the cost and responsibility of raising a child to age 18 was discussed, if contraceptives were freely avialable to everyone fertile, male and females?

Fact it, the anti abortion movement is an authoritarian one which seeks to control sexual behavior. The hypocrisy of Republicans and many Social Conservatives is clear.

And its just downright freaky the way the right is so against any kind or type of education for anyone, about anything and to any degree.

Nowadays, the right is downright proud of being uneducated. Even trump congratulates them and said he loves the uneducated.

If the right gets their way, the US will become a third world country. And they will celebrate "winning".

being educated by the progressives is no education at all, you really should stay out of other peoples lives...

Death happens, not usually in mass in a classroom, a movie theater or at a concert. And you forget the consequences to tissue when a non fatal gun wound enters the body. TV characters claim, "It's only a flesh wound" when in reality muscle is destroyed and bone splinters spread throughout the body creating more wounds and impact internal organs.

Someday read a corners report of what a gun shot does to the human body.

There's one sicko gun freak here who has said there are not enough children killed with guns for it to be a problem. He has said knives in UK are a worse problem and yet, guns kill more here than knives have killed in the UK this entire year.
