My answer – because some powerful media don’t want us to talk about other problems.
Here are some numbers I found:
Excluding most suicides, about 16,000 people were killed yearly by guns in the United States
About 41,000 people in the United States die after overdosing on opioids.
About 10,000 people in the United States die in alcohol-impaired vehicle crashes.
In infant mortality under-5 (per 1000 live births) US is in 32 place (Greece, Latvia, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia are ahead of us). If the infant mortality was as in Iceland, about 17,000 lives would be saved.
About 250,000 Americans die each year from medical errors.
