Why Do So Few Admit To Being Liberals?

Good point, most liberals are of the mind everyone else's business but their own variety, and most of our restrictive social laws come from so called liberals. They are are more conservative in enforcing law than any conservative. Their courts are mostly Democrat controlled, and our Democrat run jails are big business. A century of liberal monopoly on all legislature throughout our land has led to the largest prison population in history. Mandatory sentencing OK'd by Democrats was basically an admittance that their government has failed, and can't trust the judges they put in place.

Well that certainly describes some events that seem to have happened while people who identify themsevles as liberals were in power.

What apparently many of you fail to understand is just how differently most liberals POVs are, when compared to the POLS who you folks ideentify as liberals.

For example, many of you conservatives think that Clinton was a liberal, don't you?

Do you have any idea how many self proclaiming liberals think he was NOT even remotely a liberal?

These words liberal and convervative have no REAL meaning in the world of real politics anymore.

I'm not entirely sure they ever did.

Why is it so important to be in the labeled group, why can't you be self made instead of followers.

Why is simple, the power of propaganda on the consciousness of people who don't think. If you thought, you would question words as slogans, especially given the accomplishments of our democracy. Democracy is the most liberal form of government and because of that the most feared by those in power. People can throw the bums out so the bums buy reality and create reality, consider money's support of the tea party.

An example of the propaganda.

"In its ongoing campaign to alert readers to the absurd allegations of corporate propagandists, the Wall Street Journal tells us today about an anti-union television ad produced by the Center for Union Facts. Again, the Journal doesn't bother to investigate whether there is any merit to such allegations as "union discrimination against minorities." It simply repeats them. Couldn't a single call for comment have been made to, say, the Services Employees International Union, which represents hundreds of thousands of Latino workers?" Check out Carey's book if you want to understand.

"Corporate propaganda directed outwards, that is, to the public at large, has two main objectives: to identify the free enterprise system in popular consciousness with every cherished value, and to identify interventionist governments and strong unions (the only agencies capable of checking a complete domination of society by corporations) with tyranny, oppression and even subversion. The techniques used to achieve these results are variously called 'public relations', 'corporate communications' and 'economic education'." Alex Carey
