Why do people still think the Bible was created at the Council of Nicaea?

Yes, Einstein knew alright. And a thousand saints before him were all duped. So what are you going to do with all the irrefutable miracles? Like this one. Is the Shroud of Turin a Genuine Miracle?

Miracle LOL...are you trying to shit me? The Catholic church requires a number of miracles before one can become part of the hierarchy. A miracle is in the eyes of the beholder. Anybody who isn't a doctor and tells me they were responsible for the renewed wellness of a really sick human must take me for a dumbass. Religion is and has always been a game constituted by the powerful to gain control over the masses. Just because you haven't made note of that fact doesn't change it one iota!! A person who automatically donates a tenth of everything they can get their hands on to anybody is a major league Dumbass!!

You are hardly amounting much of an argument. By stating you doubt some healings came from heaven means what? You have just disproven all revelation? It is the desperate skeptic who instead of addressing the points of the specific subject matter being discussed, insteads diverts to another in order to provoke laughter how some group put faith in the image on a grill cheese sandwich or the trunk of a tree. That is not what is being discussed. [ FYI, there have been 67 quantitatively verified by an independent board of secular science and medical professionals at Lourdes. Previously classified as incurables. Of course those scientists and medical professionals have no credibility, right? ]

I gave you a short article that came out this past week where it is explained that science has basically been the vehicle to prove the supernatural nature of the image on the Shroud of Turin. Right reason, technical analysis and historical knowledge of nature has endowed itself to virtually declaring The Shroud is supernatural. No other explanation plausible.

There are others… including Fatima, Lourdes, Zeitoun, Egypt, stigmatas, etc. for which the doubter cannot mount a defense. Sorry that you cannot see.

Enough of this already. It's time for you to prove your faith...please don't answer with some kind of unknown cyber tongue:

Mark 16:
17"These signs will accompany them that believe: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; 18they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

The long ending of Mark was added at some point. It isn't in the earlier texts. Not that there isn't plenty of other goofy stuff.

The long ending of Mark was added at some point. It isn't in the earlier texts. Not that there isn't plenty of other goofy stuff.

It's all goofy and the church has always stepped up to the plate when their contributions began to fall off.
Religion and the Christian church in particular has been responsible for more evil acts than any other entity in the world. Granted often the government and church were entwined in authoritarian efforts but no group has ever withstood the trials of time better than those with the power.

The crusades wiped out hundreds of thousands for simply differing beliefs. For more than a thousand years the church required infant baptism. When ordinary folks began to doubt that kind of requirement and their attendance/donations began to falter the church made it optional. The scripture is still there but is never mentioned in that way.

For many thousands of years the church conducted witch hunts and tortured and put to death a conservative estimate of 100,000 innocent young women because they had been accused of witchcraft. When the general population caught on to the fact that there is no such thing as a witch the church backed away and shut up. The scripture is still there.

For milleniums the church supported slavery, often accomodated it. When ordinary folks realized slavery is a practice for which there is no justification...guess what? The church backed away and never mentions the numerous scriptures in the bible which lend support to the practice.

Now the thing is hell itself. After millions of preachers preaching hundreds of millions of hell fire and brimstone sermons and the very concept of eternal torture and misery for non believing individuals making mistakes while living their lives has become extremely distasteful to the common man they are adamant in their insistance that it's all been errors in translation and are now preaching that hell is merely the eternal separation of man from god. All the scripture
is still there but once again they have changed their position.

The church owns more real property in this world than any other entity except the governments. The Vatican City has a building which covers blocks and is loaded with rare treasures and art works which conservatively are worth hundreds of billions of dollars. All this while more than 900,000,000 humans are starving to death or suffering from the effects of
malnutrition. By default the starving are mostly children.

George W. Bush said he prayed for two weeks and that god told him to invade Iraq. There had never been a suicide bombing in the history of that country. After the invasion and the beginning of the bombings over two million people fled from Iraq to Syria and Jordon. A conservative estimate of innocent collaterals who have lost their lives in Iraq is 150,000...and be sure and add the more than 4,500 young Americans who lost their lives there and the approximately 35,000 who were seriously wounded.

GOOFY INDEED!!!

You're wasting your cyber ink. I don't believe in miracles and doubt that I ever will. At 81 years I've seen a lot of shit but the people I knew and who knew me didn't waste any of my time trying to convince me to believe a made up crock of horse shit!

Well given that, I am curious what your motivation is for being here?

Do you say people would be wasting their time trying to convince you of miracles or God --- because you have no interest in knowing?

By the time I was four or five years old my maternal grandmother was already working hard on my brainwashing. If I did something a little naughty or against her personal belief she would tell me, "Old Scratch Will Get You!" Old Scratch being her name for Satan. She would walk over a mile in the snow to make church services on a Wednesday evening or Sunday Morning.

In grammar school, 3rd and 4th grades my west TN teachers would begin each day with the pledge of allegiance and the Lord's Prayer. On Mondays they assigned each student a bible verse to memorize and recite back to the class on Thursday or Friday. I read the bible and the book of Mormon through while I was still in my teens. I had read the new testament no less than ten times while I was in my twenties. I was baptized in a Baptist church before a congregation of nearly a thousand on a Sunday morning in the spring of 1957. I was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the building committee and the Brotherhood. I worked with RA Boys and coached one of their baseball teams. I was a substitute usher. I spoke with personal testimony in nearby small churches. I visited the sick on Tuesday evenings and twice a year we visited a prison or a jail. My wife and I tithed our gross. I walked the walk.

I used to sit in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings and look around at the faces of others and wonder if they doubted the way I did. I was two-faced until I was over sixty years old. After I retired I made a major decision. I did not want to keep living a lie.....I never believed all that malarkey.

I had most of the new testament memorized chapter and verse while I was still in my twenties and 90% of Christians don't know shit about the bible. Most have a few favorite verses and listen to the self serving messages from a preacher when they go to church but that's usually it. I love to see the look on their faces when I lace them with a couple of verses which absolutely states the opposite of something they had declared.

The good news is that primitive beliefs are on the way out. The organized brainwashing of young, innocent, gullible children by their adult church going parents is the only reason that after 2000 years it's still alive. Thank goodness for the doubting.

Now....when does the snake handling and healing begin? Please don't answer in an unknown tongue.

That I can't agree with. Atheist regimes have killed far more than religious ones. That doesn't make the religious ones better but it's wrong to ignore the communist/socialist meat grinders.

The Bible is a collection of books and yes, that was one of the purposes of the council. Churches used different books here and there and the emperor wanted a cohesive voice when creating his state religion. I'm sure he had no idea how wildly successful the effort would become. Not being a Christian himself I don't think there's any evidence he personally influenced the decision, just that a decision had to be made. That's an odd way for God to "write a book".
The first Christian emperor of Rome wasn't a Christian?

LOL. Your mind is gone. The first bald pope would be the first bald pope but that doesn't change the fact that emperor Constantine wasn't a Christian.

Can you explain to us how he wasn't a professing Christian despite having converted and became baptized as a professing Christian?

LMAO!!!! You use the one country which has embraced atheism as a national policy during the modern world as an example. What it all boils down to is that religion makes no difference in the long run. Superstitious people do not only appear to live in a fictitious world.....they do:

The fact that you laugh at claims of bleeding statues, etc., and have never 'believed' even since you were a child despite the relentless brainwashing techniques that have fucked up the minds of many millions of other children for life shows that you were born with an immunity to the poison of serpents.

Can't you read between the lines??

Now....when does the snake handling and healing begin? Please don't answer in an unknown tongue.

None of that proves there is no God. You just resent the way He goes about things.

Religious instruction from early childhood on does not assure anything (agreed) --- after all, if Judas can abandon our Lord we are all susceptible. Be that as it may, I submit the evidence for Christianity is clear and by and large has incalculably been of great service to mankind.

Enough of this already. It's time for you to prove your faith...please don't answer with some kind of unknown cyber tongue:

Your one pointed attack is always selecting Bible verses that do not hold true in all cases, or verses that ostensibly contradict one another. I understand. But what are we arguing, the absolute inerrancy of Scripture or the existence of God and the Christian faith? You say it’s time to prove my faith. I have by the same way Jesus did to those around Him. He said in John 10 “If you will not put faith in the words I give you put faith in the works that I do.” In every century God has allowed for supernatural manifestations and apparitions that validated His reality and teachings. I have listed but a few of the Church approved ones, including this scientific discovery Is the Shroud of Turin a Genuine Miracle?

Jesus said "an evil age is eager for a sign, but no sign will be given it except that of Jonah." It seems to me no sign has been given them because they refuse to what has been given as a sign.

Since you only have bronze age fables to rely on your insistence of what god thinks is meaningless to anyone not indoctrinated in your belief. Yes, lots of good work has been and is being done by way of Christianity, as well as other religions, but that isn't the point. Mormons and JWs do good works but that doesn't add any validity to their religion.

Your one pointed attack is always selecting Bible verses that do not hold true in all cases, or verses that ostensibly contradict one another. I understand. Scripture is a collection of fables and teachings dating back to the bronze age that ridicules superstition and idolatry.

According to scripture, not to mention reality, Turzkova believes in a false god, a trinity that diddled a virgin to become fully human without a human father who spoke in riddles, performed some magic tricks, fed 5000 people fish sandwiches out of thin air, pissed everyone off, turned himself into an edible lifeless matzo, and then was tortured, crucified, and buried (because he loved the Romans so much), and three days later rose from the dead, spooked his friends for a while, and then floated up into the sky.

According to scripture the consequences for the worship of a false god is death.

Obviously turzkova has his reward already and his superstitious religious beliefs in bleeding statues and invisible demons, edible gods, etc., and his complete inability to think rationally, comprehend figurative language, metaphors, analogies, hyperbole, homonyms, etc., acknowledge truth or accept reality adds validity to scripture and irrefutably confirms its teaching.

An irrational rant on how you, personally, perceive scripture is only going to paint you, not scripture, as the one who is irrational. Why not present rational thinking to make your case?

Not to worry!

If you would just 'believe' you too could lose your mind and gibber incoherently about scary things that go bump in the night for the rest of your days.

your choice!

It's pretty much right on in blunt terms. The bottom line is that you have to have a LOT of faith to believe if you know how the real world works and ignore all the coincidences, like God picking the time and place in history when Hellenized Jews were applying Greek philosophy to the Scripture of the day.

OK, This is me thinking rationally.

You openly worship a lifeless material object made by human hands and then eat it for spiritual life. By every definition of the word you are by your own admission an idolator. According to scripture the consequence for idolatry is death.

If scripture is true, then you are dead.

The fact that you do not even have an inkling that your sin stands out like a white boulder in the middle of a plowed field confirms that you have your reward already and have descended into the netherworld which shows that the laws of God remain in effect and are in full force.
