Why did Trump insist that Ukraine make a public announcement on investigating Biden?

show that the administration was pressing the President of the Ukraine to make a public announcement that Ukraine was investigating Boresma- which Trump himself made clear in his telephone conversation meant investigating Biden.

Why was Trump asking for a public announcement of the investigation?

If this was just about 'corruption' as Trump and his allies are spinning this, then of course there would be discussions about corruption about everyone- and it certainly wouldn't need to be a public announcement that implicated only people who are his political rivals or his family.

The only plausible explanation for the pressing of a public announcement is because of what we all know- the investigation and the announcement were both intended to hurt his political rival and help Trump get re-elected.

So the Debate: What was the reason why Trump wanted a public announcement of the investigation of his political rival? Can it be anything other than to help Trump get elected?

The timing of the call when Biden was doing well in the poles. the negative attach on Biden seems to follow a pattern that was used last election too discredit. what is truth & fact those who know sure are not telling us.

Trump is the only one that does not realize that the prior investigation concern the actions of a Ukrainian company and not Biden or his son who was on the board

its obvious that the politics in Ukraine is split between the pro Russian factions and the pro West factions. Russia provided Ukraine most of its Energy needs. When they decided to go pro West then they had to develop ties with western nations to meet their energy needs.

Russia did not like this and certainly pro russian factions did not like it.

The company was clearly pro western and probably why they were being investigated by pro Russian factions

Any way with Trump asking for an investigation on Biden, it was not because he did anything other than get a guy fired who is the one making accusation against Biden.

any investigation against Biden only favors Trump and asking a foreign country to investigate is no different that Russian meddling. Now the Chinese are talking about Trump calling their president to get involved.

He is using his position to get dirt from any source whether its foreign or domestic.

What crime could Biden do in Ukraine that would matter here in the US or be of a nature that he could be charged with.

Nothing, its just Trump beating the war drums and his supporters burning Biden dolls

Repubs are still talking about Obama birth certificate

They still are talking about Benghazi and the email controversy

Yet Hillary has not been charged with anything and she is just enjoying her life. Its not because they haven't tried but because no harm no foul

They have a list of bad guys but its there guys who are being criminally charged
