neither does wasserman.
Debbie Wasserman-Schultz was born on September 27, 1966 in New York City, New York. She is the daughter of Larry Wasserman, a certified public accountant (CPA), and Ann Wasserman. Raised in a Jewish household, her family resided in Lido Beach on Long Island for most of Debbie’s youth. She has one brother: Steve.

Debbie graduated from a Melville, Long Island high school in 1984. From there, she attended the University of Florida, where she received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in political science. During her university days, Debbie was an active member of the student government.

Debbie is currently married to Steve Schultz. The couple has three children: Jake, Shelby and Rebecca. The family presently resides close to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

She initially gained her political experience by working as an aide in 1998 to State Representative Peter Deutsch, who would later run for the United States House of Representatives. Debbie ran to replace him in the Florida state legislature. Debbie was victorious and became the youngest female (26) to be a lawmaker in the state’s history.

After finishing her eight-year term in state office, Debbie was an adjunct instructor of political science at Broward Community College and a public policy curriculum specialist at Nova Southeastern University. Debbie would also successfully run for the Florida State Senate in 2000. Five years later, Debbie would become a Florida Congressman and serves to this date.

In 2011, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden announced that Debbie would become the Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Due to an email leak from Wikileaks, which saw Debbie try to sabotage the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign, collude with the media and offer federal appointments for donations, she stepped down from the DNC. Donna Brazile became the interim DNC Chair.

Debbie is an active member of Planned Parenthood, the National Jewish Democratic Council and Hadassah.

To summarize her political positions: she is pro life, supports gun control legislation, voted for the Wall Street bailouts, supported the Patriot Act and supported funding of the Iraq War.

We estimate that Debbie Wasserman-Schultz’s net worth is $21,000 (2012).

So how much is $21,000 really?

$21,000 can help pay for a political aide during your political campaign. $21,000 can also help contribute to the DNC in order to potentially receive a federal appointment.

If you are contrasting the two ideologies per this issue the progressives would be the ones promoting more taxation and regulation on these corporations/billionaires while conservatives would promote the opposite. Given those two stances I'd say that progressives are more engaged in checking their power. I'm not understanding where your proclaimation of "progressives being OK" comes from.
