In a sense, the thread's title/question is at the heart of the controversy in bashing the Trumpster.

Republicans (at least those that are ultra conservative and hated both Obama and Clinton) actually thought that it would be a good thing to have a businessman (an arrogant, childish, narcissistic and devious one) be president of the most powerful country on the planet.

As we are finding out almost on a daily basis, is that Trump "thinks" that (for example) twisting the arm of an intelligence head to drop investigations on him and his cronies, is the same as twisting the arm of another businessman in a boardroom setting.....

Obviously, businesses are NOT premised on democratic precepts; they are not premised on a check and balance system, and are not premised on the rule of concerns for the inclusive betterment of all citizens.

Well, Trump is doing extremely well, exceeding expectations... so I guess you have been proven wrong.

Now, who thought it was a good idea to nominate a community organizer as the president? And what's that... the DNC is talking about nominating the Rock for the next run. The Rock!

Well, judging by the number of popular votes received by Obama versus Trump, quite a LOT of Americans........

Does the flag in your avatar have meaning to you?

I would hate to think we have something in common.

There is a tendency - especially among Conservatives - to belittle other peoples job skills. Just as they think that all factory workers just sit around putting nuts on bolts all day at $80 an hour, they also think that there's nothing more to the Presidency than giving speeches and having a bully pulpit.

Hey, all surgeons do is cut people open, slice off a tumor and stitch 'em back up...anybody could do that, right?

Economic theories and practices work not only for private enterprises but for governments too!

We see that when the government tries to fit unsound practices into a large system such as the US economy, it works poorly. The system limps along at less than two percent growth, has fits and starts and the only people who benefit are the watchdogs. Unsurprisingly, it is the watchdogs that become very wealthy while the rest suffer minimal growth or even reductions in wealth generation.
