Zone1 What was the point of asking for the sacrifice of Isaac by his Father? Gen. 22

Joseph Smith's Book of Abraham, which he claimed was written by Abraham himself, repeatedly refers to the land of Chaldea and its inhabitants, the Chaldeans.

Problem is, there was no land of Chaldea or Chaldeans in Abraham's day. They didn't exist until more than a thousand years later.

Joseph Smith obviously made this mistake because he was deriving part of his Abraham story from Genesis 11 which mentions Abraham living in "Ur of the Chaldeans." The reason for this, however, is because the narrative of Abraham in the Bible was written, or at least edited, by later Jewish scribes who were referring to the place as it was known in their day, not in the time of Abraham.

Joseph Smith obviously didn't know this, and, as a result, created an anachronism as bad or worse than any in the Book of Mormon.

Abraham knew 100% God was not a liar, thus knew the covenant he made about Issac would come true, Thus if Abraham killed Issac the only way it could come true was if God brought him back to life.
That's not what God said. God is not a liar but your scholars are and tell tall tales. It's God that was not going to allow Abraham to kill his only son. But, he wanted to know if he would follow Him or not. He also wanted Abraham to know what it feels like to slay your only Son. For God the Father was going to send Jehovah to the Earth to be offered up as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. There was going to be no other son of Abraham to be offered up because God new 100% that he would not allow Abraham to kill his only son. Abraham did not know. But, he learned about Jesus Christ and his atonement. This was a similitude of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son in the flesh of our Heavenly Father.

The point is that God loves obedience the most
If God was going to have the Messiah come through Abraham's blood, he certainly did want to know how how convicted Abraham was to God. However, this was also a similitude of the Father sacrificing his only begotten Son in the flesh as well. Abraham was taught this. It's not in the Bible but it is in the Book of Abraham and makes perfect sense. If you are Christian it does. It should give Jews something to think about as well.

There was no Ur of the Chaldees until about the 8th century BC...
Not so fast the term “ ur” is used in the English translation but not in the Jewish scriptures.. Instead the term land of the Chaldees is used..The use of Kasdim is rendered as the land of the Chaldees.. Not splitting hairs but if the translation looses something going from Hebrew to English then so does the original area where this took place and confusion arises and misunderstandings take place..

God didn't write the story. Are you stupid?

The story probably wasn't written down for a thousand years.. You could call that an anachronism. Joseph Smith didn't know that when he wrote the Book of Abraham. The earliest would have been 8th century BC. Most scholars put it closer to the 6th century BC.
What evidence do you have that it was added to the writings of Moses much later and who are these supposed scholars you speak of who post date what the scriptures say about Ur of Chaldees? Genesis 15:7 is quoting the Lord God speaking directly to Abraham saying that He brought Abraham out of Ur of Chaldees. My guess is that your scholars are wrong.

Since you already know what's what, why did you ask?

God is the author. He dictated every word in the five Books of Moses to Moses. Aaron was Moses’s scribe and wrote most of it down. And, Moses used the Urim and Thumim to receive the words of God.

Try using your cognitive skills for a change and logically reason. Moses was not alive when Adam and Eve were in the Garden and when they left. Moses was not alive when Noah built the Arc. So, how did Moses find out about them including Abraham? Were records kept in the Arc? Maybe. The Urim and Thumim could have been used to translate. But I doubt it. God spoke to Moses and we know this. For 40 days on Mt. Sinai he taught Moses everything. Moses most likely uses the Urim and Thumim to recollect all that he was taught.

Moses didn't write anything down . Genesis and Exodus were written after the Babylonian exile.... 800 years after the death of Moses. There were many authors over hundreds of years.

There's no evidence for the existence of the Chaldeans until 800 BC.

The flood story of Noah's ark is borrowed from the earlier mythos of Sumer.

Records kept in the Ark? Are you kidding me?
