What is the goal of capitalism?

"Capitalism is an exceptional belief that the activities of the most vile scum, driven by the most base motives, will somehow be for the benefit of everyone" (c) John Maynard Keynes

^Fake quote.

The great merit of the capitalist system, it has been said, is that it succeeds in using the nastiest motives of nasty people for the ultimate benefit of society.

^True fact
Your quote makes a cynical, laughable assertion that couldn't be further from the facts. Your imaginary invisible hand is nowhere to be found other than in your imagination, because the facts are that capitalism (especially when improperly regulated by the government) always leads to gross inequality (i.e. social unrest, mass poverty), boom and bust cycles requiring government bailouts to save the nation's economy, cronyism, plutocratic oligarchy, the undermining of human progress for the sake of profits and maintaining market share, imperialist wars..etc.

Without socialism, capitalism crumbles:

You don't care, but you're not everyone. That's your delusion.

Capitalists, not communists run Russia. How many more times does Putin have to tell you he's not a communist, for you to get it through your thick skull? The shithole is here in America and the fact that you don't know that tells me you're delusional. This country is falling apart.

Capitalism is merely one way to address issues of goods, services etc in any society or set of societies. It posits the notion that negotiation between those who seek products or services or raw materials and those who may be able to fulfill those things will lead to the most effective way of providing for them.

It has more to do with being an effective system than it has to do with seeking any particular form of providing for liberty and freedom.

But it does incidentally serve the interests of freedom and liberty. You don’t buy an item by holding a gun to the seller’s head and threatening him to sell you a product. He doesn’t hold a gun to your head to compel you to buy his product, either.
Well said so well.

I don't like Putin, but at least he's not an imperialist, with 700+ military installations around the planet, bullying the world, as the United States does. At least Putin's Russia doesn't inject children with puberty blockers and the Russians can define what a woman is.

Did it work? Did it save the plant? Save the jobs?

Did your "free-market" unicorn work without a mass government intervention? Did the plant successfully remain in business without public funds rescuing the capitalist enterprise? Did the "invisible hand" of the "free market" successfully function without needing socialism (a publicly funded rescue operation)? No, it didn't.

You're always complaining about the government involving itself in the development of public infrastructure and allocating funds for social programs that benefit the working class, but whenever that same government spends trillions subsidizing the private sector due to the failures of capitalists, you're all for it. You never resort to insulting the capitalists for being dependents of the "nanny state", and you never criticize them for receiving public funds to help them remain in business.

When I propose the government should employ all of the unemployed, or through the SBA (Small Business Administration) and other programs, help working-class people start businesses or worker-owned cooperatives like this:

You complain that the government shouldn't guarantee employment to anyone or be spending money to help people start a worker-owned cooperative. The government should never allocate funds to help working-class people do anything, because that's supposedly being a "bum" who is dependent on the "nanny state". The "nanny state" is only acceptable and good, when it is funding your capitalist buddies, not when it spends money for infrastructure or social services that contribute to the public good.

The government should only serve Todd and his rich wealthy idols and friends. The people Todd loves and idolizes the most (the rich ruling elites), should get billions in bailouts and subsidies while working-class people can essentially go to hell. That's the Todd Theory Of Macroeconomics - TTM. Socialism for the rich, while the poor and the working class can go suck an egg.

You don't like him then you spend the next time bragging about him. Should that amaze me?

Just because I don't like someone doesn't imply I can't recognize their virtues. As a communist, I don't like capitalism, but that doesn't mean that I don't recognize the good aspects of capitalism. Capitalism is better than feudalism and it contributed heavily to the development of the industrialized, modern world. Karl Marx even wrote about the virtues of capitalism and capitalists in their revolutionary struggle against European monarchies and royal aristocracy, recognizing the expansion of republican, democratic ideals and institutions as part of their legacy.

Am I now pro-capitalism? No, I believe capitalism in its later stage of development becomes imperialistic and undermines human progress. But I still can say some good things about it.

Todd was arguing that Russia today is a communist state. How more absurd can he be? Russia is a capitalist-run country, not a socialist one. Perhaps that's why the Russian communist party is growing and Russia's political landscape is now about 20% communist. We still have a long way to go, before Russia returns to communism, but it will eventually happen. Russia isn't communist now, it's a plutocratic oligarchy led by Putin, the Tsar of the oligarchs. He's getting in the way of Russia's development and success. Russia would be a lot stronger without him, provided the Russian economy leans more towards socialism. The closer to socialism it moves the better.

You'll have to be more specific. All I hear is mumbling about Marx and pizza.

You're always complaining about the government involving itself in the development of public infrastructure and allocating funds for social programs that benefit the working class,

Again, you have to be precise. I complain about the government wasting money on things that don't fix a "problem" and often make it worse.

but whenever that same government spends trillions subsidizing the private sector due to the failures of capitalists, you're all for it.

If you're talking about TARP, it made a profit for the Treasury.

When I propose the government should employ all of the unemployed, or through the SBA (Small Business Administration) and other programs, help working-class people start businesses or worker-owned cooperatives like this:

Yes, government employing millions more just "because", would be monumentally stupid. Like Soviet levels of stupid. They pretend to pay us; we pretend to work level stupid.

The only "stupid" here is capitalist-level stupidity. All of those trillions of dollars in public funds spent throughout the decades to bail out capitalism in multiple economic disasters caused by capitalist greed and stupidity are supposedly justified in your warped mind but whenever the government spends for social services or infrastructural development it's a horrible waste of resources.

All of this is coming to an end eventually, in the not-too-distant future, as automation and artificial intelligence continue to take jobs. Your billionaire buddies are now begging the government to give everyone a monthly UBI check, with the hope of creating paying consumers, despite such consumers being unemployed. All of this underscores the fact that socialism is the natural successor of capitalism. We're witnessing capitalism in its final chapter before it dies and joins chattel slavery and feudalism in the ash heap of past, obsolete systems of production.

Which bailouts? When?
Just making a claim doesn't prove it happened.

Anyone can google all of the bailouts and subsidies paid to the private sector. The point is that capitalism often gets assistance from the "nanny state", to stay in business. It's not just bailouts, but many different subsidies, grants..etc. All types of help, and of course you're all for it. You'll never criticize these capitalists for asking for government assistance and building their success upon that, while if I say the government should encourage the working class to organize worker-owned cooperatives and provide them with needed funding, you'll start complaining.
