The late great Bear Flag Republic
In the '40s, we fought and won a global war against powerful and ambitious nations bent on world domination. They were militarily more powerful than we were, at least in the beginning. We defeated them, then helped to rebuild not only our allies, but our former enemies as well.

In the '50s, we continued the rebuilding of Europe, while building the interstate highway system. We were a net creditor nation during this time.

In the '60s, we fought the most divisive war since the civil war, we put a man on the moon, and were still a net creditor nation.

In the '70s, we survived a global economic disaster brought on by OPEC. We were a net creditor nation.

In the '80s, there was no international crisis, no major accomplishments. The savings and loan industry had to be bailed out by government to the tune of billions of dollars. There was a scandal of epic proportions in the government involving the sales of arms to an enemy of our nation. It was during that decade that we went from being a creditor nation, to being a debtor nation.

In the '90s, we saw the fall of the Soviet Union and the end of the cold war. It could be argued that we brought on that fall, or not, according to your political views. We continued as a debtor nation, while accomplishing no major domestic projects.

In the new century, we've seen the national debt baloon to over 10 trillion dollars, the interstate highway system built in the '50s begin to show signs of needing repair, the leves in Louisiana fail, and a bridge on a major highway collapse. The government is broke, it can't pay its obligations, and seems unable to accomplish anything of note.

What happened?

THE MAN BEHIND OBAMA

Zbigniew Brzezinski, who was President Carters National Security Advisor, said:

Holy Crap, they have started with the Black helicopters already and the election was 2 days ago!

Look, no black United Nation helicopters picked me up and took me to Gitmo or attacked my home town in the 8 years Clinton was the president, I don’t think it will happen under Obama either.

no..but a lot of nastiness did go on under Clinton the progressed with BUSH..and will progress even further under Obama..and your a perfect example of why its is so easy,,you most likely have not a clue who.. Zbigniew is..or are familiar with his words or the globalist agenda of the C.F.R and tri-lateral commission..and when presented with it you are programmed to respond with..black helicopters..it is so sad"

The Technocratic Age is slowly designing an every day more controlled society. The society will be dominated by an elite of persons free from traditional values (!) who will have no doubt in fulfilling their objectives by means of purged techniques with which they will influence the behavior of people and will control and watch the society in all details". "... it will become possible to exert a practically permanent watch on each citizen of the world".

- Zbigniew Brzezinski - co-founder of Trilateral Commission

Today, America would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order [referring to the 1991 LA Riot]. Tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told that there were an outside threat from beyond [i.e., an "extraterrestrial" invasion], whether real or promulgated [emphasis mine], that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by the World Government."

Dr. Henry Kissinger, Bilderberger Conference, Evians, France, 1991

Kissinger was brilliant at foreign policy but he never had a deep understanding of the American people. Even as a frothing at the mouth liberal, if the UN started dropping troops in downtown Seattle I would be standing right next to Gunny and RetiredGySgt trying to put a cap in their Super Pumas.

Like every red blooded American in their 30’s I loved Red Dawn and was convinced that the Russians were going to drop out of the sky at any moment. Like most people I grew out of that fantasy.

Ok, and if we are invaded by space aliens, I might trust the UN, but I am sure the US would still run all military operations. Of course I would still need to see the aliens before turning our liberty over to the UN.

first Kissinger is one man of many in positions of great influence and power including Obama advisors that speak of the same agenda..furthermore dropping from the sky Russians.. is not how it works..it is incremental it starts with joint operations..national security forces..private multi-national security forces..and we don't need to import socialism..it is right here already..it only needs to be further implemented

What has happened to the United States?

Atlas has been shrugging now for the last five decades.

Free trade's erosive effects took that long to begin destroying the nation to the point where most Americans are asking themselves what has happened.

But in point of fact the American working class has been losing purchsing power, mostly because we have been deindustrializing our nation since 1969.

THAT is what has happened to the nation we all profess to love.

There are other problems, too, of course.

But if you're seeking that elephant in the living room that we've been telling ourselves doesn't matter?

That's the beast, folks.

You're confusing free trade with free trade "agreements".

Just like most people confuse our market today with a REAL free market.

Globalism--

..furthermore dropping from the sky Russians.. is not how it works..

Don’t you remember, that’s exactly how it works. They are in this global history class learning about the Mongol hordes or something and then these Paratroopers come falling out of the sky in the middle of Colorado. The history teacher has a problem with them disturbing the class and goes to talk to them, then…chuga… he gets peppered by 7.62x39mm.

I haven’t seen it since I got married (10+ years) but I still remember that plain as day, Russian paratroops right out of the sky.
