My father was a Republican but I wasn't always into "politics" or news like he was. Once I did dive in... OMG!

Well, for starters, I never voted for a candidate who was pro-abortion (will never use the term Pro-choice.. NEVER ), and that was so even when I wasn't following news much.

So my father was an influence but I wouldn't say at all that that was what led me to be a R. I became a R because I could never be a baby-murdering D... Then I began studying the other issues and OMG.. HOw the hell can anyone support these idiot Ds?

Seriously, I just cannot u/stand it except by such words as

ignorant
uninformed
logic elevator doesn't go to the top

etc..

So all you Rs out there: What first led you to be one?

Democrats have always had socialist policies. They govern as "some people are more equal than others".
I didn't like the Republican tax cuts when running a budget deficit, hoping to spur the economy to a 5% GDP. That NEVER works.
So my choice is for the better, more qualified conservative candidate, which is usually a Republican.

I used to be a Democrat. I didn't leave the Democratic Party, they left me when they adopted extreme leftist policies. The last Democrat I voted for was Jimmie Carter!
Like?

FDR policies would be considered for more progressive and "extreme" by Conservatives than anything Demcorats have put forth in the past 20 or so years...and Jimmie Carter installed fucking solar panels on the White House.....

Usually, when folks who claim they were Democrats but became Republican because Democrats were too extreme -- they will not speak on policies...just their feelings.....about how uncomfortable it is that Democrats support gay rights, voting rights or criminal justice reform -- basically anything that ain't centered around white men...

When Democrats support excellence in education instead of gay rights, perhaps I'll look closer.

Can you tell me when white men's voting rights were denied? I'll wait...

Was the voting rights act of 1866, 1875, 1965, (yes, so many voting rights acts had to be passed because white men kept denying rights) geared towards white men?? What bout the 14th admendment...was that passed for white men??

As for white men being gay, can you tell me what political ideology fought for gay rights?? I'll wait

Like I said, you folks won't talk about policies...just your feels....your feels about how you think "your way of life" is slipping because all of these "others" have too much of a say....

What made me become a Republican was that day I looked around me and saw that most Democrats I knew were losers, dopers, fornicators, and freeloaders. That was the day I realized that I was better then that.

The democrats became insane near the end of the 80's and got worse as time went on. The democrat party left me.

Who couldnt vote when Carter was President?
It was a yes or no question, goob smoocher.
Carter?

Thanks to those pre-clearance laws that was still in place at the time -- voting rights acts (ALL PROVISIONS) were federally enforced......but you are too much of a moron to know that...

I also noticed none of you morons have told me what polcies are so extreme now -- unless its culture war bullshit...

By the way, FDR called out fascists back in his day....and I also don't recall Democrats storming any capitols over elections since Carter was president....or before then....unless you count the Anti-Reconstruction Democrats.....or as I call them, Confederates....aka, Conservatives...

Reagan. I admit to voting for Anderson because I couldn't fathom being GOP. I was about 21.
