What does the law say about the bankruptcy of a missing person? If the family of an individual in huge debt wants to break free of the debt, and that individual is made bankrupt in absence, what can the family do?

In bankruptcy, the bankrupt individual must meet with the bankruptcy trustee and disclose all assets. But as a missing person, this would never take place. To get a death certificate, one must wait for 7 years for a missing person.

Does this mean that the assets remain free for the family and not go under the hand of the bankruptcy trustee?
