Amid booming economy, homelessness soars on US West Coast

In a booming economy, it is ironic that the West Coast is in an ever increasing homeless crisis.

As the economy gets better, the housing prices go higher.

Why then does it appear to be mostly on the West Coast?

They are "homeless" because they are one or more of the following:

    Mentally ill
    Alcoholics
    Drug addicts

Lots of money on the West Coast. More than anywhere else.

Perhaps many of the homeless would be deported if they were in a different state.

The climate. Homeless will relocate to the west coast because it's easier to sustain year round. And the authorities do nothing to stop it. Their rest areas are tent cities.

So the left coast make up the 1% as they are surrounded by homeless people?

    Interesting

The weather is mild so it's not nearly as dangerous to sleep out in the night air, and the left coast has loads of programs that give them things. So, it's a double magnet, good weather, and free stuff.
