We're The Problem

I'm not against disagreement, as long as it is BENEFICIAL.

I won't even so productive, because, you can be productive in a bad way.....

But if it helps the Country, the People, I think disagreement to find what works best is optimal.
Disagreement without an open mind is just noise.

Some people you can't reason with. For example, could one reason with Hitler? Stain? Moa?

For some, it's simply a matter of abject power. That is all that matters to them
Stalin and Mao for the love of Christ. And yes, all three could be reasoned with.

All three were collectivists. Those in power today are also collectivists.

But it has to be an "obvious" evil.
Life is not cut and dry, but, we all can pretty much come to an agreement that Hitler was evil.
There are other grey areas, and, to stop a person, movement, by any means possible can at times be open to interpretation.

Our government is for the people by the people.
If the majority wants our Country to be more liberal, and less conservative or less Christian oriented, that is what it will be.... not should, or shouldn't, but WILL BE.

Is it in our best interests? Only time will tell.....

Not everyone agrees that evil even exists.

Historically, collectivists obtain power one way or another and end up being despots.

Shrug. People are sheep and incapable of self governance so the nanny state will do it for them.

If people are properly taught and educated from the start, it can happen.

it will never be perfect. no nation or governance will ever be perfect.
but they can be better, but a good leader is needed, to inspire others to be better and committed to a cause.
a better community and life.

Historically it has never happened.

But you are correct, the more educated people are the more control they have over their lives and the less need they have for government

How can this happen with public schools turn out kids 48th in the world in such areas as science and math? If the government wants to keep control, they must keep us stupid

All kids know today is that global warming is destroying the world and gay sex is OK and socialism is cool.

I'm not just talking book smarts.
Common sense
Fundamentals (balance a check book, budgeting)
Importance of keeping a neat house/order
Less focus on immediate gratification. More focus on long term success. etc.

May we never agree. May there always be a voice of dissent. May we always remember we are mortal, we are flawed, and none of us is as smart as all of us.

No matter how the left tries to paint the opposition as stupid, crazy, evil, just remember, those they are holding up as "the perfect leader" are not all that bright, wise, or moral. No matter how they try to deify their leaders, don't buy into their worship.

This is why collectivist like to embalm their leaders under glass like Lenin and Moa etc. It makes them immortal and lets us know that they are always with us because we need them so desperately.

The "split" thinking (left/right) is a problem.
People are people.
I'm saying people feel like there always has to be a DIVISION because of their competitive nature.

Good and Evil
Good Guy and Bad Guys
North and South
Left and Right...

... we say we want peace and unity.

Do we?

Seems to me we thrive on drama, division and controversy.
If everyone agreed and got along, it would go against the competitive human nature.
We have to fight our natural selves to be the best we can be.

Maybe you could be a little more specific? Or better yet, a lot more specific?

With politicians it's more about power and greed than about competitive natures. They don't care that they want to drive down the same road, they still want to be the ones behind the steering wheel

I'm talking about people as a unit.
Obviously, we all have different personalities, but collectively, we get what we want.
I'm not sure what aspect(s) of my statement you want specifics on?

So, in theory, no different than David Koresh.
Abuse of power is abuse of power.

We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.

May there always be a Winston Churchill to stand up to collectivists.

The difference between politicians and David Koresh is that the politicians are a lot more successful at it. Koresh could only affect his band of followers. Politicians screw everyone

It's more about advancing a movement/ideology.

Those who do become empty suits who just so happen to enjoy the power and money along the way for being a partisan shill.

That is the purpose of the 10th amendment, too bad the federal government ignores the 10th.

You make a great point, how do you not become what you are fighting?

Collectivism create world conquering armies to imprison the masses, so how else do you fight them except to do the same?

Too many warm and fuzzys in Washington, there needs to be a whole lot more obstruction. Career politicians on both sides are the enemy of the country...
Suckers...
Lol
You must be a senator.
I have been called a lot of things, that one takes the cake...
Very insulting!!
Lol
I was once told I should be a speech writer in Washington--I could very carefully talk around the matter without ever answering the question. That was because the pussies I was writing for refused to take responsibility for their decisions. He thought he was giving me a compliment--I was bummed for a week.
