Venice under water

I and the majority of Americans will probably live through the sinking of 'venice' RWinger .

It is a world treasure
Shame to see it go

They have to commit to preserving it through Engineering works. Even without sea level rise it's at risk due to the subsidence.
As are some of our major cities.

NY, Miami, Washington DC are all threatened over the next 100 years

If sea level rise actually happens. If not it takes massive storm surges to actually threaten the cities, and even then only the really low lying areas.

AMERICANS will have to Adapt and I think that that's one of the beauties of Some of the human race RWinger .

Many of our cities are slightly above sea level. Hurricanes, flooding and rising tides will start to threaten them

They are already threatened. sorry but there isn't much difference between a 3 meter storm surge and a 3.01 meter storm surge.

Dude we are in 2019, you are really posting information that assumes a 10" rise in sea level in a decade?

This is a worst case scenario map, based on models that already are questioned for even basic accuracy.

Just showing vulnerable areas
Venice has survived 800 years, how will NYC fare ?

it has no connection to reality, it's just a scare map.

6.25 feet of sea level rise? What model is predicting that?

100 year flood zones
Did you see NYC after Hurricane Sandy?

again, that is for a 100 year flood, not an actual rise in sea level. the sea level could remain the same and a 100 year flood will do things like this.

Sea level doesn’t rise overnight
What the cities will see is ever worsening 100 year floods till they can’t hold them back anymore

and again, 5 feet vs 5.01 or even 5.1 feet doesn't remove the fact that 5 feet came from the storm itself.

If cities flood, they can build new cities deeper inland and higher up.

There. Problem solved.
