Venezuela - The Next Step

You do realize that Russia is an oil producer too, right?

Cutting off Venezuela's oil is in their best interest.

Bingo! Russia ranks as the number one oil producer in the world. Meanwhile China ranks number four.

But think about this: China is also the second largest manufacturing country in the world, right below us. And almost everything they make involves the use of oil.

Nobody outside of Venezuela really wants to do oil business there..............Because the country seized foreign oil companies assets there already. Wasn't their's........it was the oil companies.................
I suppose there are some dumb companies out there that might give away more oil rigs to them.............

You may be right.....but there is a huge opportunity there for Russia. Maduro desperately needs backing.
Russia desperately needs the income.....China would be a great market for Russia as well as developing SA countries.

Then again China could take control. I can't see that rich an asset just being ignored for long.

It's all speculation at this point. Noone knows for sure.

No. Venezuela's economy collapsing even further means they won't be producing much, so Russia will benefit.
Why spend money to control something you don't need to control?

Simple. it's value is in the billions if not trillions.
Either Russia will control it or someone else will.

The infrastructure is already there. Putin is not an idiot.

Read Eagle's post above!

I did. Unfortunately re-reading it doesn't make it any more certain than the first time it was read.
Noone knows for certain. Maduro WANTS to begin selling oil again. He can't do it without help.
Assets have been seized many times ...life goes on.....money to be made.

And the assets are already there....they just need to be started back up by competent oilmen.....such as Russia has plenty of.

The whole mess came about because the Chavistas wanted the government to take control of al the means of production. That might have conflicted with the free world....but maybe not so much with China or Russia.

Time will tell.

Russians are opportunists, but I'd think even they don't want to get in the middle of that clusterfuck that going on in Venezuela. Maybe the Chinese, they're pretty smart and aren't having the problems Russia's having.
They can't afford to take on another welfare state. Hell Cuba is hanging on by a thread.

43,000 Russian troops, a shitload of MIGs, 36 HE-tipped missiles, and 9 nuclear-tipped missiles of the12 Kiloton range based there during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and all the Russians got was some crappy rum and a bunch of cigars.

:lmao:

Laugh all you want......
But I guarantee you those Russians stationed there enjoyed the hell outta that Rum and those cigars, the weather AND those Latina locals......

Not to mention they made us Americans nervous as all get out.

Yeah, you're probably right. That was the closest we ever came to being nuked. JFK would have retaliated with everything we had then and I'd probably be living in a cave, tapping these words onto a stone tablet.

I hear ya.

Did you hear about the nuke that fell in North Carolina during the cold war?

I think that was the closest we ever came to being nuked......

Geez! Five of the six interlocks were set after the missile hit the ground. Only one interlock kept it from going off. :ack-1:

Russia's economy is in the tank because oil prices fell. Do you really think they want Venezuela to produce MORE oil?

That's cutting off your nose to spite your face!

Why can't you morons get your heads around the fact that Venezuela is a third world country?
It wasn't before socialism. Now it is. Just like every other country that goes that route.

Hillary/Bernie supporter:
"Oh...but they're Democratic Socialists..." :lmao:
Making it democratic somehow makes you still hunting dogs for food and unable to wipe your ass but hey! It's what the majority voted for. I'm wondering, how is that universal healthcare going right now down there?
