Valerie Jarrett Blasts Republicans from the Pulpit

Lets see politics preached from the pulpit of a predominately white church in favor of a Republican.
Then see how long they stay tax exempt

Have voters forgotten who and what put 11 million out of work, out of medical insurance, killed retirement plans and in general wiped out the economy twice in the last 30 years? ?

Republicans are simply too dangerous to be in charge of OUR money and OUR economy!

No jobs,no medical insurance, retirement plans up in smoke by the party that believes flippin burgers is a great alternative never mind that parents can no longer be home parenting.

This is what I mean:

1, BAILOUT ENTITLEMENT - The Reagan/ Bush Savings and Loan Heist( millions out of work)
Jeb Bush, George Bush Sr., and his son Neil Bush have all been implicated in the Savings and Loan Scandal, which cost American tax payers over $1.4 TRILLION dollars (note that this was about one quarter of our national debt").

The Reagan/Bush savings and loan heist was considered the largest theft in history at the time. George Herbert Walker Bush then took $1.4 trillion of taxpayers money to cover the theft.
The Bush family and the S&L (Savings and Loan) Scandal

2. BAILOUT ENTITLEMENT - The Bush/Cheney Wall Street Bank Fraud on Consumers(million out of work)
Yes, substantial fraud was involved. For example, mortgage companies and banks used deceit to get people to take on mortgages when there was no possibility that the borrowers would be able to meet the payments. Not only was this fraud, but this fraud depended on government authorities ignoring their regulatory responsibilities."

Put simply, moving to a system of private accounts would not only put retirement income at risk--it would likely put the entire economy at risk."

Whatever people need to know about politics, it shouldn't be delivered from the pulpit in the manner in which Jarrett delivered it ... not if the church wants to retain its tax-exempt status.

Are you suggesting that the people in that congregation are so out of touch with meaningful news sources that they wouldn't learn about important political facts if they didn't hear it on Sunday?

When your answer to Valerie Jarrett giving an Obama campaign speech from the pulpit is, " .... They need to know exactly who's responsible for that," it does sound like you are suggesting that they wouldn't know about it if it weren't preached on Sunday.

Or perhaps you were just randomly posting without regard to the OP. :dunno:

No such implication merely your interpretation...

So you were just trying to hijack my thread with off-topic propaganda. Thanks for clearing that up.

It's all about backing up Valerie Jarret . She was reminding the folks what is happening to clear up the rhetoric aka misinformation.

what the hell is anyone talking about when they declare the USA needs less government?

Do we want higher medical insurance costs and fewer and fewer food inspectors?

Less government = reducing the the size of the USA Government war machine which I assume 75%-90% of USA citizens would support. The war machine is unfriendly.

The financial institution scandals are by no means the only incident of questionable, and actually illegal, financial activity that republicans have been involved in.
The Bush family and the S&L (Savings and Loan) Scandal

The line of questionable, illegal, and unethical businesses practices goes back at least to Republican Prescott Bush Sr., George Bush Sr.’s father and the expensive war machine.

Prescott Bush was a Republican Senator from 1952 – 1963. Previous to his time as a Senator Prescott was a banker and businessman. Prior to the American entry into WWII Prescott Bush was director of Union Banking Corporation. Union Banking Corporation helped to finance Hitler’s regime.

The Concentration Camps of Nazi Germany were labor camps that the Nazis used to make products for their regime as well as for sale to raise money. Prescott profited directly from the Auschwitz labor camp.

In 1942, after Hitler declared war on America the United States government seized the Union Banking Corporation under the Trading with the Enemy Act as a front operation that was supporting the Nazis. Much of the profits from the operation were already pocketed by Prescott however, and $1.5 million was put in a trust fund for George Bush Sr.

not even close to 75%. Most Americans Favor a Strong National Defense.

They don't favor the occupation of the oil rich countries no way jose'

Most people support a strong national defense but NOT abuse of military power.

Just curious, Merrill...how many House bills are there languishing on Harry Reid's desk at the moment? Of course Valerie Jarret wants to paint the Republicans as "obstructionists" because it's the only excuse this administration can come up with for why they haven't fixed anything. What's she supposed to say up on that pulpit...that Obama spent all of his political capital passing two really bad pieces of legislation (ObamaCare and the Obama Stimulus) and that they would have really liked to have passed a bunch of OTHER really bad pieces of legislation like Cap & Trade and Card Check but the voters took away their super majorities in the Mid-terms? Let the congregation know that the Obama Administration was kind of stumped on what to do about the economy and unemployment because all the people that were supposed to know about that stuff (Larry Summers and Christina Romer) tucked tail and ran back to their jobs as professors as soon as it became clear that the whole Keynesian thing just wasn't working very well? Admit that nobody in this administration understands what's involved in running a business or has any affinity for the free market system? Of COURSE, Valerie Jarret ripped the Republicans...rhetoric and misinformation is pretty much all we've gotten from this White House for the past three years.

When Newt is saying things like there are more americans on food stamps than any time in USA history it is appropriate to provide some history relating to that matter.

In fact after the Reagan/Bush savings and loan heist record numbers were accessing Social Services, taking Social Security early etc etc etc. Golden agers were out looking for jobs again because their retirement programs went up in smoke. We must try to keep matters fair and balanced.

When I see the Weekly Standard it does raise red flags. I have paid close attention to the Weekly Standard talk show personalities over the years because I learned it was a good idea.

The church participating in voter registration is not a new concept at all. Separation of Church and State I say bring it back however the RINO dominated repub party would not support that IF they too must abide accordingly. Jerry Falwell and his church was heavy into politics and fund raising to campaign against republicans. Brother was Jerry proud and boatsful of his endeavors.
