US to Veto Palestinian Bid for State

The sticky part is that Abbas does not have the authority to change Palestine's borders.

Er, Palestine ceased to exist in 1948. Palestine was invented by the British to denote Israel during the British Mandate and ceased to exist when it ended in 1948 and Israel became a state.

You get a cookie if you find any Palestine on this UN map :clap2:

You have said that a thousand times but never posted any documents to back up what you say.

No cookie for you for being unable to find Palestine. Because, there is no Palestine. It's a made up word.

Can you show us the archaeological evidence of this mythical Palestinian civilization in Israel? No, I didn't think so.

Jews are the only nation to have been established in Israel for 3000 years.

Pulitzer Prize-Winning Writer Charles Krauthammer...
Israel is the very embodiment of Jewish continuity: It is the only nation on earth that inhabits the same land, bears the same name, speaks the same language, and worships the same God that it did 3,000 years ago. You dig the soil and you find pottery from Davidic times, coins from Bar Kokhba, and 2,000-year-old scrolls written in a script remarkably like the one that today advertises ice cream at the corner candy store."

Palaestina was invented by the Romans to erase the Jewish identity with the land of Israel and Judaea. Does that make today's Palestinians Italian?

Find a map that does not have the 1949 armistice lines (that are specifically not borders) and you will have it.

Israel was created by Europeans. Of the 37 people who signed Israel's declaration of independence, only one was born in Palestine and he was the son of immigrants.

Nope. All you will have are some arbitrary lines on a map that existed BEFORE the U.N., not an officially recognized map of any so-called nation state called "Palestine."

The history of "Palestine" begins with fiction. That's where it has been stuck ever since.

One thing to note if they got statehood it does not define any specific borders or anything like that. It just gives them access to more options of diplomacy.

Palestine's international borders are affirmed in the 1949 UN armistice agreements.

Can you provide archaeological evidence that a Palestinian civilization even existed? Nope, you can't.

Israel was established 3000 years ago verified by the archaeological record.

Harvard Semitic Museum: The Houses of Ancient Israel
In archaeological terms The Houses of Ancient Israel: Domestic, Royal, Divine focuses on the Iron Age (1200-586 B.C.E.). Iron I (1200-1000 B.C.E.) represents the premonarchical period. Iron II (1000-586 B.C.E.) was the time of kings. Uniting the tribal coalitions of Israel and Judah in the tenth century B.C.E., David and Solomon ruled over an expanding realm. After Solomon's death (c. 930 B.C.E.) Israel and Judah separated into two kingdoms.

Israel was led at times by strong kings, Omri and Ahab in the ninth century B.C.E. and Jereboam II in the eighth. The Houses of Ancient Israel § Semitic Museum

Oh. You must be talking about the so-called (largely fictionally based") Palestine TERRITORIES!

So, gee. No. You fail.

Try again when you've got something genuine.

Eminent Middle East Historian Bernard Lewis...
The adjective Palestinian is comparatively new. This, I need hardly remind you, is a region of ancient civilization and of deep-rooted and often complex identitites. But, Palestine was not one of them. People might identify themselves for various purposes, by religion, by descent, or by allegiance to a particular state or ruler, or, sometimes, locality. But, when they did it locally it was generally either the city and the immediate district or the larger province, so they would have been Jerusalemites or Jaffaites or Syrians, identifying province of Syria

The constitution or the formation of a political entity called Palestine which eventually gave rise to a nationality called Palestinian were lasting innovations of the British Mandate [1948]

The League of Nations defined the borders of the new state of Palestine in 1922.

The 1949 UN armistice agreements affirmed that those borders remained unchanged.

Pinocchio, the League of Nations defined the border of the Jewish National Home, not Palestine

The Mandatory shall be responsible for placing the country under such political, administrative and economic conditions as will secure the establishment of the Jewish national home, as laid down in the preamble, and the development of self-governing institutions, and also for safeguarding the civil and religious rights of all the inhabitants of Palestine, irrespective of race and religion.
