Truman didn't have to declare war on the N.K. when he sent troops to Korea, he merely issued a (unconstitutional?) executive order. The mission was bungled it so badly that we turned victory into a three year quagmire and lost an estimated 35,000 to 50,000 Troops. LBJ didn't declare war, he used a fake crisis to send Troops to Vietnam and then set the rules so that we could win every battle and still lose the freaking war. We lost about 50,000 Troops in that one. Bill Clinton decided to go to NATO for authorization rather than congress when he was caught with his pants down in the Oval Office and the left thought it was appropriate to bomb Europe when a democrat gets in political trouble. Now they lecture us about Iran.

You seem to forget that we were already in Vietnam under Eisenhower. And you lost your way about Iraq. I supported Afghanistan all the way but when Iraq DS2 came about, it sucked badly needed resources from AFG and shunted them to Iraq. We ended up screwing the pooch in both places. We should have never have gone into Iraq at all and concentrated in defeating the Taliban and Ossama in Afghanistan. We almost had it in the bag when it all went to hell. We ended up screwing up the entire Middle East. And the last time I checked Bush, Jr. is a Republican.

Why don't you get your story straight? One Dim added a PROPOSAL to a massive budget bill which has not yet been approved by the House - let alone the Senate. And, it would have to be signed into law by the president.
