Let me begin by saying that I'm a Teenager who's going to be participating in an upcoming debate at my high school between the Teenage Republicans and Young Democrats. I was assigned the topic: The US Budget. I am apart of the Teenage Republicans, and am seeking some help or opinions. Here is what I believe.

US Budget:

1. Taxes
-Generate more revenue by cutting taxes at each level (Corp. Tax, Cap. Gains, Income Tax, etc)
2. Foreign Affairs:
-Reform our foreign aid so we are actually holding countries accountable. (Giving billions to Pakistan, yet "They didn't know" Osama was there)
-Stop funding the UN (G-77 System, wasteful spending)
3. Entitlements:
-Reform SS!! Very simply put, raise the retirement age so SS becomes sustainable
-Why are we cutting the payroll tax? It created a deficit in SS last year, and will continue to do so
-Start IRA's, let people pay what they want! But, they must contribute 3%, they can't not put into it
-Medicare/Medicaid (This is where I'm weakest)
-Obamacare needs to be repealed, cost too much
4. Illegal's
-Stop the incentives for them to come here. Start with repealing '82 Supreme Court decision that everyone is entitled to K-12 education
-Troops on the border
5. Drill!

-NO social services to them
5.

Remove all troops from Africa, middle east and close all bases within that area. Cut defense budget 150 billion per year. Move 10 billion of that over to enforcing our borders.

I agree that we do need to limit our presence in some parts of the world, but I am not in favor of gutting our defense budget. Isolationism is what got us in trouble during WW2, 9/11, etc.

I could use all the advice and help possible! I did leave out the Dep. of Education.

By the way, thanks for the kind words.

No new taxes....The feds take in something like $2.5 trillion a year...They have a spending problem.

Lots can be cut from the military by closing the scores of bases in countries like Germany, Japan, England, Korea, etcetera, where the wars have been over for decades...Also, money pit projects like the Joint Strike Fighter and Osprey can be ended.

Medicare, Medicaid and Obolshevikcare need to be junked outright and Socialist Insecurity privatized.

End the federal departments of Commerce, Energy, Education, Labor, HHS, HUD and Faterl...er....Homeland Security and devolve any of their few legitimate functions to the states.

Shut down ridiculous and frivolous federal funding for CPB/PBS/NPR, NEA, ONDCP, Ad Council, EEOC, NLRB, ad nauseum.

It might be helpful to us if we knew the topics assigned to the Young Democrats.

You might point out that Obama's proposed budget includes nearly $90 billion in tax penalties on the domestic oil and gas industry.
That would ultimately result in reduced revenues to the U.S. Treasury.

As long as Americans are struggling to survive in this god awful expensive country? Nothing social oriented.

I'll tell you what...Campaign reform that gets all money out of the election process(yes...and I always have to have this disclaimer...unions too), Put people back to work at a solid wage that allows disposable income to BUY shit with CASH instead of relying on credit... and guess what? Revenue goes up because more people will be paying taxes, taxable profits will go up because people will be buying stuff and using services.

But until Everyday citizens either stop buying or run out of Credit, Corporate America will not budge... why should they... they're still making a killing.

First you need to learn the difference between isolationism and noninterventionist. At this point the Dems can attack you for being a hypocrite and they would be right. Who gets to decide how many troops are allowed, in what countries and what wars are allowed. You either follow the constitution or you don’t.

In fact the constitution has all the answers for you. Again you either follow it or you don't.

You either amend the constitution or you break the rules and fight about who is breaking it more... Then you sound like Newt and Obama.

Defense needs to be cut down a bit LONG before anything like education and programs for children and the poor are cut.

You're too smart for this crowd, kid. Get away before you get infected! It's not too late for you! Tell the others we're here!

The best move of course if to cut it all at the same time... Not promis stuff will be cut later IMO.

Let's say we cut them proportionately then. For all the people talking about "entitlements" and other poor people programs... you cut the defense in an equal percentage as those programs, and we'll talk. Want to cut 75% of the "entitlement" programs? Then cut 75% of the defense budget.

How low are you willing to go?

Fuck the poor.. Some people are poor for a reason.

I'm all for reducing military spending only because they use $100,000 bombs to blow individual terrorists up and I find that economically ignorant.

The funny part is they don't even get them the first time... Not to mention a .25 cent bullet would do the trick.

There used to be a video of it until the PROGRESSIVE NAZI's AGAINST FREE SPEECH obviously got rid of it...

I suppose it was offensive to progressives and they yanked it...

250,000 bullets were fired in Iraq per insurgent killed. Both seem pretty expensive to me.

And yes, you say fuck the poor. No shit... we already know you fucking hate the poor. That's our platform.
