A slight shift away, which wasn’t that slight, in an environment when the president has a low approval rate is a disaster in my opinion.

Virginia goes back and forth. The only number I have seen is that the dems have 50+1. I guess there are races still needing to be decided. There were around six or 7 races the dems didn't contest and a couple the GOP didn't bother having a candidate for. You or your spouse have to have some cash to be able to serve in the general assembly. The salary is only like $17K plus a per diem. It keeps a lot of people from being able to afford to run excepts doctors, lawyers, and businessmen or their spouses.

This SCOTUS is nothing more than a flash in the pan. Everything they've changed will be reversed by the Legislature in 2025.

All they've done is guarantee rock solid legislation to make sure that no SCOTUS ever tries this again.

Yes, abortion is an issue that fires up the Democratic base. The problem is that people shouldn’t be one issue voters. Even if a person is pro-choice, they shouldn’t ignore all the other issues where Democrats are completely wrong, which is the vast majority. I fear that is what is happening.

The problem is, if your party gives up on trying to force women to have their rapists' babies, about 10% of your base is going to stay home.

This is most certainly how the left frames the argument, but there are many Repulicans that support abortion in certain cases. Democrats want women to have the right to abort up to the day of birth, something most Americans do not agree with. The SC overturning Roe v Wade turned the issue over to each state, and rightfully so, from a legal perspective. The left spun that to mean that the SC banned abortions and are taking advantage of the issue.
