No doubt about it, Trump has changed the landscape and knows how to attract crowds and stimulate press attention. Whether that will translate into votes is what everyone is waiting to see.

The PAC's are bombarding the state with funds to promote Carson and it is working. Trump's poorly executed claim of being a religious person have hurt him in Iowa where the evangelical vote is of the utmost importance. Carson's genuine religious motivations and influences are overwhelming, hence, he is garnering the evangelical and Christian vote.

It looks like a stadium and since you can not clearly separate the individuals in the picture there is an illusion of a huge crowd. Look at the small boats to put thing in perspective and proportion. Nowhere near twenty thousand. Gross exaggeration. Trump is a liar and plays his followers for being dumb.
