Donald Trump argued that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis failed in his management of the pandemic and that "the numbers weren't what they pretended to be."

"Former President Donald Trump attacked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in a recent appearance on the Full Send Podcast, even going so far as to hint at a conspiracy reminiscent of the of the one alleged by faux-whistleblower Rebekah Jones. After being asked why he was a better choice for GOP presidential primary than DeSantis, Trump went on to launch an attack on DeSantis’s handling of Covid in the Sunshine State, which initially vaulted the governor to national prominence - Trump’s assertion that DeSantis had misrepresented the Covid death data in the state mirrors the false allegations leveled at him by Jones, who was fired by the Florida Department of Health for insubordination and other alleged crimes committed while managing the state’s Covid dashboard."
This is a brilliant move by Trump because it gives him to a chance to remind his supporters that the federal response to COVID was far more successful than DeSantis handling of COVID....And Trump went for the jugular to imply that DeSantis had among the highest death totals in the nation and claimed he lied and misrepresented his state's COVID numbers..
Yea, I know we have to pretend that Trump himself wasn't praising DeSantis' handling of COVID during the outbreak; even saying the rest of the nation should model what Florida is doing -- but let's be honest; who wants to remember things you said a couple of years ago? That's basically communist to remind someone of something they said in the past.....
Now this may stretch the bounds of cognitive dissonance for some Trump followers, but the majority of them will find a way to rationalize the blatant lying and move on like they have been doing.
