Top Democrat businessman : “Every Business Guy I Know Is Frightened Of Obama

Wynn: “Every Business Guy I Know Is Frightened Of Barack Obama And The Way He Thinks”

“I’m afraid of the president. I have no idea what goofy idea, what crazy, anti-business program this administration will come up. I have no idea. And I have to tell you Jon that every business guy I know in the country is frightened of Barack Obama and the way he thinks.”

“I’ve created about 250,000 direct and indirect jobs according to the state of Nevada’s measurement. If the number is 250,000, that’s exactly 250,000 more than this president, who I’ll be damned if I want to have him lecture me about small business and jobs. I’m a job creator. Guys like me are job creators and we don’t like having a bulls-eye painted on our back.”

“The president is trying to put himself between me and my employees. By class warfare, by deprecating and calling a group that makes money ‘billionaires and millionaires who don’t pay their share.’ I gave 120% of my salary and bonus away last year to charities, as I do most years. I can’t stand the idea of being demagogued, that is put down by a president who has never created any jobs and who doesn’t even understand how the economy works.”

Why does your topic title say "Top Democrat businessman"? Steve Wynn is a registered Repubican and makes big donations to Republicans.

Don't make shit up. It undermines your integrity.

.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet and then do your pussy little-man dance.

It makes you look like an asshole.

'Everybody’s afraid of the government and there’s no need soft peddling it, it’s the truth. It is the truth. And that’s true of Democratic businessman and Republican businessman, and I am a Democratic businessman and I support Harry Reid. '

- Steve Wynn, 2011

Self-Described Dem CEO Steve Wynn Rips Obama: “He Keeps Making Speeches About Redistribution . . . We Haven’t Heard That Kind of Talk Except From Pure Socialists” | Weasel Zippers

One cannot blame their phantom fears on the phantom or Obama the fictional socialist in this case. It's like being afraid of Dracula or Freddie Kruger. Fear is the mind killer or in this case the republican platform, I have no sympathy for such spineless jellyfish that get their news from RW blogs, their fears are entirely self inflicted.

No. They actually aren't. See when the government constantly changes the rules and creates more and more regulation, it becomes more difficult to predict the needs of the market. When that happens, transactions become riskier and hence people are naturally more afraid to engage in transactions. And rightfully so.

In order to have a vibrant economy, we need to have confidence in that economy. We cant do that while the government is constantly changing the rules on the business owners and investors.

And that is precisely why we will not see an economic recovery under Barack Obama.

I gave 120% of my salary and bonus away last year to charities
How much does he make? For all we know, he pays himself a pittance. Lots of business owners do just that to avoid paying income taxes and instead take their profits as capital gains.

In the best order I can come up with, my business owner clients are afraid of:

1. An economy that is essentially dead in the water
2. Finding quality employees who are dependable and actually want to work, even with unemployment as high as it is
3. Uncertainties over upcoming regulation/taxation, and the costs they'll incur
4. Uncertainties over upcoming health care costs

And those concerns are on top of the regular concerns business owners have, and I'm not going to list those 30 or 40.

My business owner clients generally look like they've been hit by a freakin' truck.

Good post Mac and spot on.

Anyone in Business should be terrified of what this administration is gonna push for next.

Hell. I have friends who own businesses and they are like deer caught in the headlights.

Oh I can understand that they would like to go back to the Bush days when they wrecked the entire economy with low taxes and no regulation. What it is is they don't like president Blackenstein.

Funny thing is, the typical business owner I know has to put on the brave face for the public and their employees; when they're in front of a friend or an advisor, the barrier comes down and they're a different person.

I think most of you just lie through your teeth. My business has already surpassed total sales compared to last year. And we have three more months in the year.

Oh, okay, that changes everything. Good to know that we can observe your business to determine the current business economic climate nationally. I'll alert my clients forthwith.

Thanks for that post.

During my 41 years of employment with a prime contractor for the government I had six different managers. With one exception they were assholes on the job and a pillar in the church and community. The good news....I've outlasted them all.

Because of a stagnant middle class. Weird how neither of you "business experts" even mentioned that and yet it's the biggest reason why the economy is still so sluggish.

The list I offered was about their biggest concerns. Disappointing that you can't see the difference between their concerns and why certain conditions exist. Two different discussions entirely. Obviously.

But fortunately, Ravi is reporting that small business is doing great, so I'm feeling much better now.

If their business was truly in trouble it would be because sales are down, customers aren't there and the reason for that more than anything is because people don't have the money to spend. Why? Because of a stagnant middle class. The other shit is all second tier importance.

Couldn't agree more that the weak middle class is one of the fundamental reasons for our economic weakness.

The rest of your post, however, indicates that you have absolutely no idea what it's like to run an ongoing business. That's okay, no law broken, but it's naive and simplistic.

When you look small business owners in the face and tell them they did not build their business but the government did it for them, how pro-business can you be?

You know what Mac? Seems like you must have spoken with a bunch of crummy businessmen.

And you know what else?. When people are running a failing business, they will look around and blame anything but themselves for their poorly run business.

If they can't do the long range planning, match employees to production, budget accordingly for their business needs, etc etc,. Let em fail. That is the rethug Mittens way. Can't cut it in business, to bad.
Go find another line of work.

But don't worry Mac. They will say whatever their politics dictate. Cause I know a couple small businssmen that run roofing companies and vote Dem. They had their best year ever.

How could that be Mac? You know, with every thing going wrong.

And if you speak with an Ultra wealthy person, making their incomes on capital gains, hows the stock market doing Mac? Are the ultra wealthy doing ok?

Do you have a poll or research on our wealth and job creators you would like to share which does not confirm that they hate Obama's commie guts?

I have several that do confirm such.

Ugh.

I know this may come as a shock, but not everyone is a partisan sheep. I don't think everything is going wrong; I work with lefty business people, righty business people, and everything in between. I was making an observation, and I also clearly wrote the word "uncertainty" not once, but twice. My suspicion is that the general business climate will improve after the election, whomever is elected, because business will have more certainty.

If you want to play these games, find a right wing partisan sheep, and play your little games with them.

This country really needs more decaf.
