To emilynghiem: Reagan made a deal with Democrats. After he signed the amnesty the Democrats did not keep their word.

Bush, McCain, and others tried to do another amnesty it 2007. They failed in part because the Reagan Amnesty deal showed that Democrats simply cannot be trusted.

and didn't Bush do the biggest handout with billions in vouchers and FEMA
aid that wasn't policed and may have been abused to commit crimes?

Hey why not, let's share laundry lists and ask BOTH parties to clean up their own pile!

With Republicans we can count the
billions in wasted FEMA money from the trailer scams to the vouchers
that went towards who knows what
also the money spent on Iraqi contracts questioned by the liberal left
(the same ones who go after Dems as well, Jimmy Carter etc. for war not just Rep/cons)

So while they are counting all that up and financing ways to pay it back
they can fund a health care system based on helping Vets first and fix the VA
at the same time

The Dems can stop funding the death penalty they oppose
and use that money to pay for health care through a reformed
correctional system based on restorative justice, and even
house and provide for immigrants through a huge school
system that no one flunks out of, but is jsut transferred to special units to get help

Let each fund their own systems.
and let taxpayers CHOOSE which programs to fund by party!
why not?

In the meantime taxpayers are free to invest our
money and labor into church or business programs
of our choice, and deduct from taxes according to law

so we can boycott the whole system till we have better choices
by creating our own programs to fund. we can pressure both
parties to pay for their own messes instead of billing us!

Sir, much like Joseph McCarthy your hyper partisanship may only serve to drive folks away from your cause. Consider the 50's WAS a very active time for the cold war and McCarthy made us look like dupes.

To Toronado3800: I’m saying the federal government has no business providing a cloak of respectability for a gambling enterprise.

Just so I am not misunderstood on this. There is nothing wrong with people gambling, but taxpayers should not bailout the casinos after they rob the bettors blind. I would go so far as to prohibit lawsuits against Wall Street casinos even if brokers admit they cheated the suckers. Ditto casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and so on.

You make your own judgement about the War.

To whitehall: Okay. The American Left that was instrumental in bringing defeat to their own country are traitors. One is now the vice president, another one is secretary of state.
