Have been speaking with many Army and Marine officers over the last month. They state without a doubt we either negotiate with Taliban or leave tomorrow. They state we could have 1 million troops there and the country is too large and isolated to get any better. They state training the Afghani police is a joke and will always be a joke. One well organized Taliban unit of a dozen runs off 100+ better equipped Afghan police. They state the Afghan government we hepled install is totally corrupt and will always be corrupt. Nothing will change that and there are areas such as Andar that have not seen their government leaders in years because of Taliban control. Much of the country they say is currently run by Talliban as they control the schools, the tribunals, everything.

One only has to take a good look at Afghanistan and the total nothing there as far as literacy.
Their religion likes it that way.
