This is WHY you want the EPA...

Blame Trump? I recall pop astronomer and environmental guru Carl Sagan claiming that it would be the end of the world if Saddam lit off the oil fields. He did and the world barely burped. American technology can put out the Houston oil fires (set by environmental radicals?) and the EPA can go on doing whatever it does.

True.

And watch their insurance be canceled, then have to file bankruptcy due to all the lawsuits. Yeah, they think it’s worth it to be careless. Makes great business sense. (Sarcasm)

A voice of reason! Thank you!

With insurance, they sometimes make money from an event like that. Sometimes, it's cheaper to have a fire occasionally than it is to maintain all the precautions needed to prevent them.

well that seems a bit paranoid. Sometimes fires happen especially when you're dealing with toxic freaking chemicals. Does literally everything bad have to be about trump? cant we accept that sometimes shit just happens?

Don't know how many are aware of this fire, but it's out of control.

Eight tanks on fire and no way to put it out. More tanks could ignite.

The crime: Intercontinental Terminals is saying it's harmless. Levels are safe.

Anybody stupid enough to believe that shit?

This is why you need to have an EPA, because oil and gas corps are fucking criminals.

Hey Trump, you fucking asshole, THIS is is what an emergency looks like.

Yeah, EPA is doing a great job monitoring it, TX is handling it.

I'm aware of that, I use to drive by their offices almost everyday. But his techniques weren't subtle wouldn't work over that large an area, if you want to argue that face, do it with yourself.

They're going to risk going to prison for insurance fraud on a massive scale with potential manslaughter charges if a firefighter gets killed while guaranteeing horrible worldwide press. That makes sense.

does the EPA have a magic toxic cloud dispersing raygun that operates on tax dollars somewhere

No, they have REGULATIONS imposed on chemical manufacturers of toxic substances, which has been curtailed over the last 2.5 years, you fucking douchebag.

Yea, if it weren’t for the EPA all these petroleum companies would set fire to their inventories and facilities just for fun.

Most people don't understand what the EPA actually does. They assume that it just just creates hardships and adds cost to everything business does. What they really do is save businesses huge amounts of money in lawsuits and clean up costs. They also make it easy for a CEO to sell the board on pollution control.

Most businesses do not take any pleasure in destroying the environment. However, it's nearly impossible for a CEO to sell the board on spending millions of dollars on pollution control which won't add a cent to profits. However, EPA tests, reports, and studies that show the company would be violating the law and damaging the environment without the equipment gets the job done. Those that hope to cripple the EPA are not doing the business community any favors. Businesses may save a few bucks now but they'll pay a lot more latter.

In an environmental lawsuit, one the best defenses a company has is proof that they have met all EPA requirements.

What is the "it?" Do you believe flammable substances should be outlawed?

If I am not mistaken, every state has its own EPA that stands alone from the Feds. It is over kill to assume we need a Federal EPA, unless of course they are just passing laws for Federal land in their possession.

ALSO----------> When was this plant built? Its storage units? Was it under Trump? No, not likely. So you understand that any equipment mandated under Obama, Bush, etc, was more than likely, still there since it was already paid for.

Finally, don't let the Left try and sell you a phony bill of goods here-------------->almost EVERY regulation that Trump rescinded, were regulations that had NOT YET taken affect. Now if the OP or anyone else wants to show us a regulation that would have now been in effect that Trump rescinded that would have prevented this, we can then have a conversation; but more than likely, they can't.

All the OP is doing is throwing doggy poo-poo at a wall to see what he can get to stick, basically PROPAGANDIZING and GASLIGHTING you. If you fall for the OPs propaganda, then you are the definition of sheep. It is very easy to do you know, lol. Show you something on fire, blame a Trump policy, and walla…….it is now Trumps fault. It makes no difference that one has NOTHING to do with the other. They do it in reverse also------------>economy picks up, they proclaim it was all Obama after 8 years of misery, and again, walla-------->Trump had nothing to do with something that everyone appreciates.

Notice the inconsistency of the propaganda? Trump removes regulations, but it has nothing to do with the economy, but everything to do with the fire, including the one that happened in California...……..even though his regulatory removals were of those regulations that had NOT YET taken affect. Add to that California and Texas have their own EPA, but the Leftists blame Trump for the bad, and give Obama credit for the good.

Once explained, if you can not see the propagandizing and gaslighting being aimed at you, then you really need to go back to school, and take a critical thinking course.

We live southeast on the coast, so not in harm's way yet.
But if it rains in the area, it will drag all this shit out of the air and onto ground level.

Trump needs to get his sticky, pudgy fingers out of the EPA, find his wall money somewhere else, because this is going to make a lot of people sick, and Intercontinental Terminals needs to be fucking SUED by the EPA.
