Need to install a new needle valve seat in a carburetor. Do I have a brass punch? Don't have one. None at the hardware store either. But they have a brass toilet float rod. Make one? Yep...

Cut off one threaded end. No sparks. Awesome.

Heat it up and upset the end on the "anvil" until it is the right diameter...

And...it's done...

...and it still didn't run...

Turns out that...while the coil was putting out SOME spark...it wasn't enough. After eliminating fuel and air as the culprits (replaced hoses and all during the carb rebuild)...went back to fire.

Bought a new coil and it fired right up... ...which was outstanding, because I was beginning to get discouraged.

Mrs. Mo had already picked out a John Deere mower with a cup holder and an accessory drawer $$$$$.

Quick little leather holder to keep the two pieces together...and this job is done.

Into the toolbox with you...
