Election Interference: Here are the Four Colorado Justices Who Voted to Exclude Donald Trump from the 2024 Ballot

Had Trump's Army Secretary called them up, no one could have rejected that. So why didn't Trump have his Army Secretary do that?
Trump didn't need to, the authority was already given. I believe it's even statutory- the DCNG is specifically charged with defending the Capitol.

A better question is why were they told to stand down for over 4 hours until it was all over? They had a plan, they had the people staged, they got the phone call from the Capitol Police asking for help, and the Pentagon held them back.

Did you read the memo?

First of all, that memo is about J6, not the days leading up to it when the DCNG could have already been called up from the start of J6, preventing the attack on the Capitol. That memo is in regards to calling up the DCNG AFTER Trump's thugs stormed the Capitol. And even then, your memo reads... "Army has DCNG on stand down despite request for support."

Who was the Secretary of the Army, who had full authority to call up the DCNG?

No, the USCP are in charge of defending the Capitol. The DCNG must be called up. On that day, they could have been called up by the USCP or the Army Secretary.

One reason Trump can't deploy NG is it is the function of governors, DC has no governor so Trump can not order troops into DC to aid law enforcement. He can and did authorize a number to be available if needed, deployed by SecDef.

EO 11485 covers DC deployment. It's been updated a few times.

Mayor Bowser and Pelosi had concerns over the optics of armed NG troops on every corner and had SecDef limit the number of troops deployed and also limited what they were to have carried on themselves as far as defensive gear....I think it was something like 350 troops were to aid law enforcement......more were available if needed.

This has been hashed out many many times here, with documentation proving all the accusations from the left........go look it up..........Geez.

Only by SecDef......USCP has to ask for assistance. USCP with aid from other LE thought they had it under control, about 1:30pm or so, they called for backup from NG.

Here's your timeline:

I don't know what to tell you but read the memo again. The USCP were desperately asking for help. The Secretary of the Army's designate refused them.

The memo details some of the preparations that were made in advance of J6 wrt personnel and gear. They had a plan and they were experienced in controlling riots D.C.

Approximately COP Sund urgently request National Guard support during teleconference
1426 hours with Christopher Rodriguez, DC Homeland Security; Chief Contee, MPD;
General Walker, DC National Guard; Muriel Bowser, DC Mayor; Lieutenant
General Walter E. Piatt, Army Staff Secretary. COP Sund is advised by the
Army Staff Secretary that "we don't like the optics of the National Guard
standing a line at the Capitol"
and that his recommendation to the Secretary
of the Army will be not to support the request.

Bowser was instrumental in that refusal also.

Complete and utter nonsense. The president had the authority to call up the DCNG. It's possible the president still does. Regardless, the president has delegated that authority to the Defense Secretary and the Army Secretary.

The D.C National Guard was formed in 1802 by President Thomas Jefferson to defend the newly created District of Columbia. As such, the Commanding General of the D.C. National Guard is subordinate solely to the President of the United States. This authority to activate the D.C. National Guard has been delegated, by the President, to the Secretary of Defense and further delegated to the Secretary of the Army. The D.C. National Guard is the only National Guard unit, out of all of the 54 states and territories, which reports only to the President.

You're terribly wrong.

Nothing in there says Pelosi or Bowser denied having NG presence. It put that blame on the Army Staff Secretary.

Notice the use of the word 'we'?

LOL

Which is what I fucking said...

Faun: "the president has delegated that authority to the Defense Secretary and the Army Secretary."

So why didn't Trump have DCNG called up?? The Defense Secretary reports directly to the president. The Army Secretary reports directly to the Defense Secretary.

Notice the use of the word 'we'?

The Army secretary reports to the Defense Secretary, who reports to the president. Not Nancy, not Bowser. The Army Secretary does not take orders from anyone else. And who's Commander-in-Chief of the army?

Troops don’t deploy without orders. The CiC was incompetent!

I get it. You guys have an automated response to blame Trump and only Trump for everything that ever happens. Did you read the memo?? Are you calling the commander of the DCNG a liar?

They had it all planned out in advance, including the triggers to send the QRF that was standing by at the Armory and the guards stationed at traffic control points with full riot kit in their cars.

"During the 2:30PM conference call, Chief Sund of the USCP pleaded for the immediate support of the D.C. National Guard at the U.S. Capitol as the security perimeter at the Capitol was being breached at that very moment. Chief Contee reinforced Chief Sund’s request. Chief Contee asked Chief Sund aloud if he was requesting immediate D.C. National Guard support at the Capitol. Chief Sund replied “Yes”. Chief Contee then asked LTG Piatt if the D.C. Guard would be sent to the Capitol. LTG Piatt stated that it would not be his best military advice to recommend to the Secretary of the Army that the D.C. National Guard be allowed to deploy to the Capitol at that time. LTG Piatt stated that the presence of uniformed military personnel could inflame the situation and that the police were best suited to handle the situation. Both LTGs Piatt and Flynn stated that the optics of having uniformed military personnel deployed to the U.S. Capitol would not be good."

And it went downhill from there. So why did the Pentagon shut down the DCNG response?

Their explanation that they had to "create a plan" to deploy the DCNG in the midst of an ongoing riot defies all rational thought. That is what the DCNG does, and they already had it planned out.
