The "White Fragility" Book by Robin DiAngelo

Bah.. DiAngelo…she’s a sellout!
According to who? White racists? Because describing how whites react to discussions about race when interacting with blacks is a helpful tool in understanding how to communicate with whites about race. On the issue of race, it's pretty much impossible for non racist whites to be sellouts. Unless you believe that whites have the right to be racist.

I don’t know.. isn’t that what you say when Owen’s or elder speak out against blank people?

Here again we have an illustration of the problem. You post another silly false equivalence. Angelo is not speaking out aganst whites and the blacks you talk about are repeating untrue factless racist narratives about blacks that deny the impact of American public policy. DeAngelo wrote her book after over 20 years of observing behavior in the workshops on racial sensitivity she and her partner are paid by corporations to do. These two things are nowhere near the same and DeAngelo is not selling out whites by saying that whites have trouble in discussing the issue of race with non white people. You and many others in this forum exemplify her conclusion and in fact, the false equivalence you used is the prime example of the behavior. DeAngelo has admitted to her own fragility, which is something you and most here refuse to do.

no, I’m just simply saying you call
Owen’s and Elder sellouts because they don’t tow the narrative about black people. They say that black peoples issues are not based in racism, but in choices. DiAngelo says it’s all out racism..so, they are all on opposite ends of the seesaw.

also, you said it yourself. They are being paid by companies to come in and do workshops on racial sensitivity. They are literally assuming the same things you are. That racism is inherent and ingrained in white people, and that all white people are racist by nature of their birth etc..

Her whole job is trying to teach white people that they are bad people and must admit their faults and and must admit their ingrained racism etc…. If a white person becomes defensive about being called a racist or that they have racist tendencies, she calls that white fragility. In other words, her entire book is based on that white people MUST accept they are racist, or they have “white fragility”.

So, if Owen’s and elder etc are sellouts because the speak against the narrative of black people, then DiAngelo is a sellout because she speaks out against the narrative of white people.

Instead of dumping a 49 minute video on us, how about just telling us the jist of it, in your own words (if you have any)
As usual, Wiki is a good place to start for help;
White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism is a 2018 book written by Robin DiAngelo about race relations in the United States. An academic with experience in diversity training, DiAngelo coined the term "white fragility" in 2011 to describe what she views as any defensive instincts or reactions that a white person experiences when questioned about race or made to consider their own race. In White Fragility, DiAngelo views racism in the United States as systemic and often perpetuated subconsciously by individuals. She recommends against viewing racism as committed intentionally by "bad people".

Published on June 26, 2018 by Beacon Press, the book entered the New York Times Bestseller List that month, remaining on the list for well over a year and experiencing a resurgence in demand during the George Floyd protests beginning in May 2020. As of the July 26, 2020 edition, the book was in its 97th week on the list in the Paperback Nonfiction category, where it is ranked number one. Critically, the book received generally positive reviews at the time of its publication. It received more mixed reviews in the aftermath of the George Floyd protests two years later. Some reviewers lauded the book for being thoughtful and instructive, but characterized it as diagnostic rather than solution-oriented. Other reviewers criticized the book for making false claims about race and racism in America, for putting whites in a situation where anything they say is used against them, for infantilizing black people, and for doing nothing to promote racial justice or combat systemic racism.

Other summaries pop up on the web-search. This is a good one;

There is no black fragility son. We aren't scared to engage in debates or discussions about race or racism, while you and others with your ideology are.
Except they are not debates or discussions.
They are indoctrination sessions.
The allowed perspective is one way only and the resolution must always be the same.
Blacks are right and never wrong on the "racism" issue while whites are never right and always wrong on the "racism" issue.
Unless the whites just shut up and accept the verbal abuse they are receiving, then it's been a positive debate/discussion as far as the black(s) are concerned.

Meanwhile where do Asians and Hispanics place in these "debates & discussions"?
How does this racism game play when outside USA or Europe ?

Do the Japanese have Jap fragility since they have often thought they were superior to all other races?

There is no indoctrination attempts except by right wing whites. There are many whites who are right on the race issue, they just aren't on the right. Asians and Hispanics are saying the same things as blacks. And we live in America, so thats what we are going to discuss. Racism in America.

The right denies the root cause of the problem, and yet they try preaching to us about how we should take respnsibility for our behavior when it has been white behavior that created our problems. Whites don't get verbaL abuse unless they express racist opinions and generally the right expresses raciat opinions and claims they are stating fact.

So it's time whites like you accepted how things have really been instead of pretending. You cannot lecture us on how to do things when the way you tell us isn't how whites have what they do. Do not lecture people about merit when your asses aren't where you are based on merit. Don't lecture people about how they should not ask the gvernment for help when whites have been given the most help from the government. Do not lecture us about fatherless homes when the white divorce rate is 50 percent and white women are left raising children with no father. Don't lecture us about black on black murder when whites are killing each other at about the same percentages. Don't lecture us about crime when whites not only lead in crime every year, they control the weapons of crime and the drugs. I can keep going. We have heard what whites have had to say since at least 1776 and in every case what whites have told us has been wrong. Maybe it's time whites listened.

Facts.

This discussion/interview by Marc Lamont Hill w/Robin DiAngelo discussing her bestselling book "White Fragility" shines some much needed light on race in America.

Specifically addressing why it's so hard for white people to talk about racism.

You'd do well to take a listen...

Marc is the most fragile person on earth.

Black Fragility: Being able to break every law in the book and still claim you're the victim.
Since that doesn't happen, then you have shown proof that black fragility doesn't exist. You better start looking at the annual FBI crime stats, because they show that its whites who do that. The greatest example of this is Donald Trump. No one black facing 91 criminal counts would be free today.

Let me show you some fairly recent information.

In 2020 blacks led in arrests in 2 categories in the Uniform Crime Report, murder and robbery. I am not going to pretend this is a good thing, but let’s look at the arrest categories whites led in:

Rape, Aggravated assault, Burglary, Larceny-theft, Motor vehicle theft, Arson, Violent crime, Property crime, Other assaults, Forgery and counterfeiting, Fraud, Embezzlement, buying, receiving, and possessing stolen property, Vandalism, carrying, possessing, Weapons, Prostitution and commercialized vice, Sex offenses besides rape and prostitution, Drug abuse violations, Gambling, Offenses against the family and children, Driving under the influence, Liquor laws, Drunkenness, Disorderly conduct, Vagrancy, All other offenses (except traffic), Suspicion, Curfew and loitering law violations.

This is an annual statistical occurrence I have seen in every UCR since I first started researching by looking at them in 1994. And there have been several years whites have led in murder. When your race leads in 27 or 28 categories out of 30 categories of crime annually, you cannot point your fingers at any other race about a crime problem. Nor can you twist math to excuse yourselves.

And if you look at the UCR since 2020, you will see the same pattern. So like I said:

Don't lecture us about crime when whites not only lead in crime every year, they control the weapons of crime and the drugs.

Take your begging for reparations from the white man, elsewhere.
Shut up white woman.

“While people of color, individually and as groups, have been helped by affirmative action in the subsequent years, data and studies suggest women — white women in particular — have benefited disproportionately. According to one study, in 1995, 6 million women, the majority of whom were white, had jobs they wouldn’t have otherwise held but for affirmative action.”

We can find the same type of behavior from whites.

If not worse.

My goodness, the same posters who whine constantly about wanting free shit because they see themselves as being pitiful little victims are actually calling other people the fragile ones.

Goodness, gracious sakes, alive.
