Back in the heyday of immigration, we were a nation of less than 100,000,000.

Today, we're a nation of 300,000,000, and we no longer have the open land to give away, that we once did, and we no longer have jobs for all.

In truth, we no longer need immigration in any way, shape or form.

Oh, we can continue to let-in a few score thousand each year, just for old time's sake, but we might as well hang a 'No Vacancy' sign on the Statue of Liberty.

We can't even keep our own people employed, never mind more newcomers.

Still... nothing wrong with a modest, tightly controlled immigration, even nowadays.

The presence of 11,000,000 - 12,000,000 Illegal Aliens, now present upon United States soil, without our express prior consent, is quite another matter.

They need to go.

We'll go bankrupt trying to round 'em all up... like tryin' to herd a room fulla cats.

No, what we CAN do is to make laws and establish legal and economic conditions so onerous to Illegal Aliens, that they'll scurry back to their third-world shit-holes under their own power and at their own expense, as quickly as they can manage it.

Historically speaking, the reason why immigration has been limited in this country was to protect workers from working for low wages. I'm getting a little tired of the fact that the only jobs available are shit jobs that pay less then $10 an hour. I can imagine the positive effective of removing 11 million people from this country such as lower crime and forcing employers to pay better wages.

Actually there is plenty of data and research indicating that a larger population size directly equates to greater / faster advances in technology (i.e. innovation). In case you haven't noticed we have a Republican led Congress...not a Democrat led one. Obama hasn't been able to really do much with his presidency outside of his first couple of years.
