The Saints of Islam

The purpose of religion is to re-build one's relationship with God Almighty the Creator, a relationship we lost when we came to this world.

This is why there has been 124 000 prophets among whom Moses, Jesus and Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, the best of all prophets and the last of them all. After Muhammad and his Companions, the saints of Islam kept coming on earth at each century, and so it shall be until the end of time.

Like the prophets, the saints of Islam fly in the air, walk on water, visit the heavens as they wish, say "be" to anything and it will be, etc...

They teach their followers how to re-build their relationship with God The Creator. Among them is Ahmad Chichti, or Fudhayl Iyadh, or Ibn Atallah, or Zarruq; you find pages about them easily on Wikipedia.

Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) is sent as the last of all prophets. He is the Seal of the Prophets. After Muhammad, there is no prophet; but there are the saints of Islam. The saints of Islam are like the prophets. They fly in the air, walk on water, visit the heavens as they wish, say “be” to a thing and it will be, etc…They come on earth at each century after Muhammad and his Companions, until the end of time.

This happened between 4 saints of Islam. Malik Deenar, Hasan basri and Shaqiq Balkhi went to visit Rabia (Rabia is a woman). These 4 persons are saints of Islam. They were talking about sincerity. Hasan Basri said: he is not sincere whoso does not bear with constancy the blows that come to him from God Most High. Rabia replied: this (saying of yours) seems to be self love. Then Shaqiq Balkhi said: he is not sincere whoso does not work gratefulness for the calamities (very unfortunate happenings) that come to him from God Most High. Rabia replied: There needs to be more than this (saying). Then Malik Deenar said: he is not sincere whoso does not find delights in the afflictions that God Most High sends to him. Rabia replied: There needs to be still better. Then they said to Rabia: What do you think ? Rabia then said: he is not sincere whoso does not forget the pains of the afflictions coming from God Most High, just as the ladies of Egypt who seeing Yusuf (Joseph) forgot the pains of their hands.
