RAMALLAH, Dec 3 (NNN-KUNA) — The Israeli government has given the green light for the construction of 84 housing units in the West Bank, a week after the temporary freeze issued by the mini cabinet.

Radio Israel, monitored here Thursday, said that head of the civil administration received instructions to inform heads of settlement councils of areas where construction is permitted.

It quoted Defence Minister Ehud Barak as saying it is necessary to adopt a full freeze on building settlements because any hesitation would harm Israel, adding that such a decision should apply to all areas Israel intends to keep or annex.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said construction in the West Bank would resume after a 10-month suspension.
