Sooo...you want "proof" that the null hypothesis is an actual thing? Really?!?! To be clear, it's not called the "rational null position". I was stating that the null position is the rational point of origin for scientific study, and experimentation. Perhaps this will help you understand how the Null Hypothesis works.
