Yes. The Pilgrims were illegal immigrants. They landed in America without the permission of the American Indians, who owned the land by virtue of residence for thousands of years. No one except the Indians had the legal right to give them permission. And the Spaniards and the Dutch and the French and the British before the Pilgrims were all also illegal immigrants. And after the Louisiana Purchase and the 1862 Homestead Act, all the whites who went West were illegal immigrants again on Indian land — in some cases after treaties were signed with the Indians setting aside the land for them. And of the hacks and foul-mouthed Conservatives now wagging their tongues about undocumented immigrants, how many of them are recent descendants of immigrants themselves? — and illegal themselves, because ALL the Europeans in this country are here without the approval of the American Indians whose land they usurped and continue usurping? There is so much hypocrisy in this country now, too many of us choke on it. The author Jodi Picault had it right recently when she said: “It’s really hard to love America sometimes.”

No they weren't. Not even the Natives thought they owned the land. This is a bit of fol de rol pedaled to the ignorant. It is a lesson on where the failure of education leads.

Native Americans didn't have the concept of personal ownership of land, but they certainly had the concept of territory! Why do you think we had so many treaties that we broke?

There was not a border or an elected government or any written laws in north America when the Pilgrims arrived.
Left Wingers are dumb crackpots. Stop living 400 years in the past.

We have a 100% right to control border crossing.

We have a 100% right to control our immigration.

Don't you get embarrassed for posting such nonsense ?

Yes. Thousands of years longer

Upon arrival, the Pilgrims should have received welfare

Often it is WAR that displaces one group when another group challenges them for occupancy and use of land. Many tribes, cultures and nations have been engaged in this kind of struggle. The term "legal" is European. Native Americans are still here as are the immigrants. Modern USA is evolved from an intermingling of many peoples. Racism is so prevalent in America because many Americans deny that we are in a different era now. The world is multicultural now- face it.

So are you saying that America doesn't have the right to control its border crossings or enforce its immigration laws?
